Grand Hotel Salerno

My goodness, why does everyone give this hotel such a bad score? This place is a TREASURE! The GRAND hotel Salerno, baby! Massive rooms, nice balconies, all the stuff you possibly need I guess. OK OK OK, the whole place looks like something out of the 70s, but its hilarious! Stop taking yourselves so seriously. If you're going to be like that, why don't you spend x10 the price over on the Amalfi coast? Cheap as chips (chips not included)

Reminded me of a really bad dream.

We had a nice time but the internet and wi fi were unacceptable we need to do work emails and had no service in the room and had spotty in the lobby Also there was a great restuarant on the beach acroos the street thatr no one told us about we found it on the last day the closest you told us was Madgray a long walk away the concierge restuarant could have been better however the staf were helpful on other things they showed us where there was an ATM nearby and one gentleman who worked the desk got us a great private driver to Pompeii. All in all good service bartender was great also just the internet lack of will keep us away unless it gets upgraded in the future Please work on that

Wi fi and recommendations for nearby restuarant

The room was very comfortable and our room overlooked the mediterranean ocean which was just across the main boulevard. It was a little eerie because there were not many guests and it is a very, very large hotel. I would recommend the nearby Cafe Mediterrano for a lunch or dinner. Great food.

There were a lot of weeds growing along the front of the hotel and a bunch of skateboarders were hanging out along the side of the hotel. It is a mile or so from the historic downtown, but the walk is along the ocean.

My room was was on the water front. It was big enough to spread out, not cramped at all. Th bathroom was big, even had a bath. The breakfast was amazing, such a variety of foods. I was also able to leave my bag on check out day so I could explore some more.

I had some trouble with the shower, but only because I am not used to this system. I could not get the main shower head to work.

Large and comfortable room that was cleaned daily. Variety of breakfast options available. Parking available to guests beneath the hotel. Helpful reception staff.

Hotel looking a bit tired. In need of decorative repairs, but understandable due to covid and decreased income that must have hit hard ! Breakfast did lack any warm options ....

The soap dispensers, the plumbing was a little weird. Hot and cold check in and out sometime and the shower with bath valve gave more or less pressure sometimes. If the bar was better we would probably had a few drinks there but it was very bad with very little stock. So we went elsewhere.

It was very clean, with daily cleansing & replenishing of soaps etc a safe was supplied to keep documents safe. The staff were very helpful in answering our queries & the breakfast was plentiful

The balcony were quite scary to be on…no toe board to stop things falling off from a high height

Very good location/facilities for the conference I attended. The room was comfortable and large, the breakfast was nice and had good options. I got good assistance when changing my booking to other room and longer stay.

Some coffee was not good, some was really good; the location was a bit far away from the old city, but rather close to the station; otherwise I missed the ground-floor bar which was closed most of the time.

The location was great as we were very close to the Travelmar dock. Great place to stay if you want to do day trips to the different towns on the amalfi coast. Friendly and helpful staff.

Clean, big. Great hotel room view. Breakfast was extensive, clean, attended, good. Beautiful public beach 1/4 mile south of property.

Was hear many years ago when Indeed it was grand. Tired. Painted crazy colors. Salerno itself seemed depressed. No restaurant choices. Old ugly bedspreads.
