breakfast- super. I read in previous reviews about coffee from the machine, this is not true. Breakfast is both salty and sweet, coffee is brought by the waiter, delicious croissants, there are yoghurts, a lot of fruits. Perhaps after 09:30 the choice becomes smaller, but not critical beach- umbrellas and sunbeds included in the price, beach is clean, has excellent entrance to the sea - small pebbles, immediately deep, which is great for someone who likes to swim. The sea is clear, cooling, despite the crazy hot weather. excellent cocktails in pool area and, despite the fact that the hotel is full, you can always find a place near the pool, as well as on the beach enough places nearby and in city center where you can have lunch and dinner. You can order lunch at the bar on hotel beach, which is very convenient. But if you don't like the menu, then there's a great selection of other places around the corner double room is not big, but there is enough space for 2 people, everything is neat, technically and visually in good condition, clean , room has spacious bathroom

These are some small things, just in order to hotel will be absolutely perfect. Everything was wonderful and I don't have any bad remarks. 1. exit and return from the beach. Perhaps you should think about some kind of electronic key , in order not to ring every time the bell 2. The water in the pool was hot. Of course, in the current weather conditions this is understandable, but perhaps there are some options 3. not enough hooks for towels and shelves for toiletries in the bathroom

The infra-structure in the hotel has a lot of potential... It has a pool, gym center (but not free for guests), beach club with free chairs and sun umbrellas for guests, restaurant both at the hotel and at the beach club. Breakfast is very complete (fruits, juices, coffee, yogurt, cheese and ham, eggs, cereal, lot of pastries). The location is very nice with sea view and close to the old town of Scalea. Free private parking included.

It seems to be an old hotel well managed... Room was not too spacious and it had old furniture... However, the bathroom seemed to be renovated. The room has a tiny fridge (frigobar).but the hotel charges the guest if you use it for your own personal things - you can't even put cold water in there!

The Grand Hotel De Rose became our favorite place to stay in Scalea. We stayed there three times for a total of ten nights during our month-long visit to Italy. The location is excellent, just minutes from the beach, the Lido’s and town center. The staff are wonderful and super helpful. The hotel has a restaurant for breakfast and lunch, but not for dinner. There is a very nice pool, and the hotel has its own Lido on the beach where you can eat lunch and sunbath. The grounds are nice with places to sit, relax and enjoy the view. We stayed on both the second and third floors with a balcony and amazing views of the sea and along the coast to the old fort. The rooms are large and comfortable, even for an extended stay. We enjoyed walking along the street by the Lido’s and our favorite Lido became, Il Pescespada Beach Club for lunch and drinks. The owner Mattea was so nice and helpful, always making our visit enjoyable. There are so many great restaurants, in just a short walking distance from the hotel, that we never used our car. We will certainly stay there again.

The property is in an excellent location -with quick access on to the beach front and lovely views from our balcony. The staff are all very pleasant. The beds were really comfortable. The rooms were very clean.

We appreciate that this is an older , traditional property and that it is the start of the season but there was a lack of maintenance particularly around the pool area and the gym area did not look suitable for use. That said the hotel did offer value for money -but it definitely is not 4 star.

De Rose is a beautiful ‘70s resort with an authentic luxury aesthetic that my (younger) generation is hungry for. Beautifully furnished room with a renovated bathroom. The swimming pool is huge and has nice views. The staff was attentive. The private beach area is great and has a bar.

Very nice hotel next to the sea. The rooms are clean, overlooking the sea and the garden. It is very pleasant to spend time on the balcony. Breakfast is tasty, varied. Fresh pastries are served. Overall we recommend the hotel.

There is no kettle in the room for some reason

It was a nice sea view and big balcony cleaned room, comfortable bed. good location, close to the private beach which was nice

at the balcony it would be nice with umbrella to have some shadow so the balcony could be used during the day as well. also would be nice with some sun chair at the balcony. The staff was really nice but poor English unfortunately breakfast was ok but not much to choose between and therefore a bit boring after some days

The hotel is perfectly located, but Google Maps gives misleading instructions. When it asked you to turn right from the highway to reach your destination, take the SECOND right DOWN, not the first one up. The difference is literally 10 m, but the second turn is not very well lit, which cost us about 10 min of extra driving into a scatchy area at night. The staff is super-nice and friendly, including staff in the restaurant with good sense of humor.

We liked everything. The view of the sea, from the balcony was beautiful. The room was spotlessly clean and bright and the breakfast was the best breakfast we had in our three weeks in Italy.

There was nothing that we did not like.

The location is perfect: near the beach and the city center. The place is quite and beautiful. The breakfast is full of options.
