APA Hotel Fukushima Ekimae

Literally so convenient for Shinkansen travel. Having a JR pass and the hotel being so close to the station meant I could dash to other cities on a whim and not stress about getting back to the hotel. The bath was great with two outdoor baths as well as the indoor bath. They have both a vending machine and small convenience store inside the hotel, I only wish they also sold alcohol. Room was compact but had most things you need in a hotel. On my second day I woke up to two fresh towels and tea/coffee hung up outside my door which was amazing as I needed new towels. Staff were lovely and very knowledgeable of English which surprised me a bit as we weren’t in the typical tourist areas. They also accommodated my request for a high floor giving me a very nice view.

You can only control the heating in the room, not cooling. For most of my travels in Japan I have been hot in my rooms, maybe I’m just sensitive to heat? But I was excited to be able to turn my room into an icebox, but couldn’t. Also the convenience of the location came back to bite as because they had no heating, I had to leave my window open to cool the room down, and because my room faced towards the train station, I could hear every announcement, Shinkansen and even the construction work going on through my whole stay.

We only stayed for one night but the room was very clean and comfortable. A little small with all the luggage we had but this typical of Japan and it was fine. Location is super! So close to the station, restaurants and shops. I would stay here again. Staff were really helpful and pleasant to deal with. They kept our luggage after check out too which we delighted with.

This APA wasn't totally different than the others that I had visited, but me and my friends all had separate rooms, which after about 2 weeks was a welcoming sight. So not much different to the others but a room by yourself is amazing. Haha.

Same as most other APA hotel's, though that is a given.

I liked the location. Very close to the station, and easy to navigate around. The staff were very helpful and kind. Everywhere were very neat and tidy, and the facilities were easy to understand.

For a single room, the bed was bigger than i expected. Location was right beside the JR station too. Room was also very well maintained.

Not any fault of the hotel, but there is nothing much to do around Fukushima. Good if you are just using it as a place to stay as it is quite cheap

Fantastic location steps from the station on one side, handy supermarket on the other, and a 10 minute stroll to the hip hop happening part of town (Fukushima version)

I wasn't expecting anything palatial, but even by business hotel standards my room was just on the small side

Location excellent near station and bars . The spa was great and breakfast was great. The staff were really helpful and let us store our bags when we arrived early for checkin.

Room was tiny but it was clear on the website that it was only 11sqM so not surprised.

The location is good and fairly quiet.

A small room for a high price! At the reception they treated me like an alien although I am a permanent resident of Japan and speak good Japanese. If you don't look Japanese you must be ....

Very friendly staff, the hot Bath was awesome as well. Very close to the train station. Oh and the TV was great, I could watch a couple of movies.

The air conditioner wasn't very good, room became very hot in the night.

Love the extra onsen, room amenities were great, comfortable bed and pillows, super near the JR train station.

Room was a little small, can only have one open luggage at best.
