Mitsui Garden Hotel Okayama

This was one of our favourite places to stay on our trip in Japan, The staff were very friendly at the desk and helped me find someone local to fix my son's back. The rooms were lovely and comfortable. The location was very good. The staff at breakfast were very nice and happy and welcoming. The breakfast was a large choice. We were sad to leave because we found this such a relaxing place and I would definitely come back here. There seemed to be a lot of happiness and care at this hotel - people seemed to be happy working there. Really recommend people to come here.

Very good location! I can walk from the JR Okayama rail station via the shopping centre and then through the lobby of another hotel to Mitsui Garden Hotel. The price of the hotel is very competitive. The staff of the hotel is very friendly and helpful, and they can speak good English. I would recommend it to other travelers traveling by JR train.

The room is a bit small. The public bath is not an onsen. It is just a bath with hot water. There is no information from the hotel about the most convenient route to and from the JR Okayama station. When I first arrived at the Okayama JR station, it was raining and it was difficult for me to find the hotel even though it was close to the station because it was surrounded by other hotels. I finally explore the best route by myself. This route is all indoor and I don't have to worry about raining in the summer or snowing in the winter. I recommend the hotel to address this to all future guests.

Everything kind of went wrong but it was a great stay anyway. First room was too small (no fault of hotel, we just booked a small room) so we upgraded. Great new room, but screaming baby next door made it impossible to sleep. Lost it and called reception at around 11.30pm and we were quickly moved to another floor where we slept like babies - unlike the screaming one we just escaped from. The staff were excellent and dealt with the situation immediately.

Big sized room. Just 3 minutes walk from the rail station and the bus stops. Many eating places nearly and also the food mall at the station is good. It is on a quiet road so there is no noise in spite of the rail track nearby. A very nice public bath (onsen) is on the 13th floor.

Really nothing to complain about.

Perfectly adequate double room at a bargain £90 per night, comfy bed, very clean and right next to the train station (which is so important in Japan when lugging luggage around). Okayama itself is a lovely town with a cool vibe, a beautiful Japanese garden and a splendid castle to visit, plus lots of cool shops and coffee bars on your doorstep.

Amazing continental breakfast (Western and Japanese); a very central location, only a few minutes walk to Okayama JR Station and across the road from AEON Mall. Room was comparatively large by Japanese standards. Very comfortable. Loved having an onsen on-site. Used the washing machine / dryer facilities - very convenient.

Buffet breakfast was great. Excellent covid 19 prevention measures. Phone charger provided in room. Beds and pillows were very firm which I thought would be uncomfortable but ended up having a great night sleep with no back pain for the first time in a while.

The rooms are very compact as is usual for a Japanese hotel, but it was comfortable.

The size of the room, location and cleanliness were good. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The woman's bath was always too crowded. We always had to wait a long time for the elevators.

Location to train station and restaurants friendly staff, eco cleaning option.

Restrictions on tattoos in spa facilities. Respect the culture, but its 2023 and western tattoos have no resemblance to gang culture. .. lack of room tea/beverage replacement daily.

Great location right beside train station, Aeon Mall and local trams. Clean room, comfortable bed, convenient amenities. Excellent and helpful staff. A very pleasant stay at this hotel while we explored the area (e.g. – tram to Korakuen Garden, train to Himeji Castle, Ritsurin Garden). Highly recommended.
