Yamagata Kokusai Hotel

The hotel room was very comfortable, clean and spacious for 3 Adults, Staff were very helpful and offered great recommendations for restaurants, I also had issues receiving my language from my pervious hotel and the front desk staff really went out of their way to assist me and organized to forward my language to my next hotel when it arrived after I checked out. Parking on site since we hired a car, the car rental place just around the corner so very convenient.

The hotel room is a bit dated and the Bathroom entrance is set higher than the rest of the room so approach with care and lack of charging points.

Room is quite spacious, enough space to walk around and lay out our luggage. Ample electric sockets, and good WiFi. Furniture a bit dated but kept clean. We got a room on its top floor with a great view. Wasn't that many dishes for it buffet breakfast, possibly due to the lack of guests, but still it's good enough. Hotel staff are extremely courteous, be it at the reception, or inside the restaurant. There's a Mitsukoshi mall next to the hotel, with a supermarket and drug store. It's about 10 min's leisurely walk from Yamagata Station, and in between you'll pass by some restaurants and convenience stores. Not really that close to the station, but the room rate is generally cheaper that some others around.

Need to be careful while getting in and out of the bathroom due to the big different in height.

the location is great close to the station with a couple of mins walk.. the view from the hotel is also great with the mountains and the city especially in the winter.. the morning breakfast is also quite delicious and the variety is nice with lots of local delicacies as well as western food.

the washroom does have a weird smell, maybe coz of old building. I hoped they had provided moisturizer in the amenities which is quite common in Japanese hotels these days.. also there is no usb charger near the bed, a minor inconvenience..

The staff was very helpful. They assisted in filling out the forms we needed to use the takyubin transport service to send luggage to a future accommodation. We were given a space , just off the main lobby area where we were able to assemble our bicycles. The breakfast buffet, both Japanese and Western, was varied and delicious.

Clean room. Complete amenities. Front staff is very helpful and easy communicate with english. Coin laundry is available in hotel. You also can buy the soap at the front desk.

The pillow is small. Limited room space.

Location near to the Yamagata station and terminal bus to Zao Onsen. Designated smoking room for guest. Lots of restaurant around. By the time we went there it was snowing for 3 nights...very quiet town nice for walking.

Great location, easy check in and out, clean and comfortable.

Make sure you take your parking ticket to hotel reception to validate it before you leave the car park otherwise the parking is very expensive.

Great location, nice room, nice lobby, lots to see in the area and lots of places to shop and eat. Breakfast was good.

Food was too western. Wifi was limited to room.

Excellent location. Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean room with comfortable beds. Coin-operated laundry on the 9th floor. Very good breakfast.
