Holiday Inn Panama Canal, an IHG Hotel

We booked this stay as an en-route stay but ended up really liking the hotel and would come back. The beds were SO comfortable and clean that we all slept like babies and were the best rested here out of all the places we went to on our travel. Breakfast is excellent and the location turned out to be perfect: it’s in Ciudad De Saber which has a big oark, sports, a craft beer brewery and taproom, restaurants and on our stay, a weekend craft market and old cars show. It’s just 20 minutes by bus to the National Parks and in the other direction just teo stops to a fantastic Tacobar or even the Mall with a bus terminal for travelling elsewhere.

The swimming pool area could be a bit bigger and maybe the gardens behind the building could be accessible for families with kids.

The breakfast buffet was really good. The room was comfortable and the view of the canal so interesting. The bed was comfortable and a good shower with hot water. Tea and coffee machine in the room and a small fridge. There was an iron and ironing board. Water can be bought at reception. The aircon was a necessity. There is a bus stop outside the holiday Inn that takes you to Miraflores center. Easy access from hotel to Allbrook mall by taxi or Uber or by bus. A great restaurant next door with a live band on the weekend. Their pesto prawn pasta was excellent. MaaGoos down the road for fish tacos and frozen maracuya margaritas was also good with a live band. The hotels restaurant was good too. The pool was a delight to cool off in, in the afternoons. Mainly spanish is spoken, but google translate works well. Staff were always pleasant and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay. Thankyou.

I went for business. I my reservation included breakfast which was good, though I would've liked some variaty after 5 nights spent there. Location was good. I was close to work and I felt that visiting places were near (Coastway, Albrook Mall, the Canal).

I wished that the site was updated because it said that common areas were not available. If I had know I could've brought swiming suit and training equipment fot the gym. Maybe you should check directly with the hotel.

The location was in a safe place, and we went for a walk and ate at the restaurant next door. I'm not sure about normal prices for the area but they were the same as in the States. My daughter ate in the restaurant and said it was good, we ate at the restaurant next door. We requested a view of the canal and it was a great view. That was the entire reason for staying in the area. The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was comfortable with plenty of toiletries and a hair dryer. Overall, it was a good stay.

overpriced for what it was. For $16 dollars I would have expected more. I would say it was a $12 breakfast tops. The view of the canal from my window was excellent. I wish I could have been able to open the window for better photography.

open the sky lounge for viewing the canal so I could take better pictures even if it were not staffed. your location is why I booked here. to view the canal in operation. I did get some decent photos from my 5th floor room but as you can see from the one posted it has glare from the window, some photos were better and I did enjoy watching the activity on the canal.

I liked the 2 days over there! Its not downtown but when you are in the upper levels you see the panama canal and the huge ships passing by! Lovely view! Safe parking in front of the hotel! The bed is big and very comfortable!! Mister Eithan at the reception gave me a warm welcome and is very friendly!! Muchas gracias x su hospitalidad!!

It is not downtown so without car a bit complicated, but i knew that before so no complaints! There are buses and taxis which brings you downtown

We stayed at the Holiday to visit the Panama canal locks which were only 5 minutes away by car. The room was very comfortable and spacious. I loved the super comfy bed with soft linens and fluffy duvet. The staff at the front desk were efficient at both check in and check out and the waiter in the restaurant was friendly and went out of his way to make sure our breakfast was on the table in record time. There is a bar restaurant walking distance, but the Clayton shops and food court were not "around the corner" but a good 20 minute walk from the hotel. However, he area is safe and I enjoyed discovering this unique area in the canal zone.

The air conditioner was old fashioned and noisy. We turned the fan way down and it did not bother us that much. We didn't realise that shipping is not continuous and the locks remained empty. COVID rules meant we could not even visit the museum but were whisked through each floor. A good to know for independent tourists wanting the best experience for their visit... check first!

We found the room to be clean, comfortable, and quiet. The front desk staff were very friendly and professional. The location is great, easy to access restaurants, etc.

The rooms need more lights. The bathrooms need shelves for toiletries. It would be very helpful if there was a ramp to the entrance of the hotel for bags with wheels and people in wheelchairs.

Variety in the breakfast on Sunday they have an typical Panamanian breakfast. Friendly and attentive staff,good service. The bed was excellent. Locating for us perfect, seeing the boats/cargoships entering and leaving the canal.

You can see the Miraflores Locks from the hotel! So can watch ship’s going through the canal. Interesting area as the hotel is situated on former US military base. There is a restaurant a block down the street as well as one in the restaurant. $5 Uber ride will get you to the locks, or Casco vihejo
