Photo Essay: Little Falls Trail

The Little Falls Trail is a short, steep climb in the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area just outside of Las Vegas, Nev. The trail is uphill for less than half a mile to the top, where a small, clear waterfall tucked in between two cliffs trickles gently down onto the trail. As we hiked, we saw evidence of fire damage. Trees were felled and charred, obviously the result of fire, and yet smokers still flicked their cigarette butts right on the trail.

Stopping for breath on the steep trail.

This is apparently one of the easy trails on Mt. Charleston, but at an elevation 7500 ft and at a steep angle, this trail is a bit of a challenge.

Awesome pics… a shame about the fire. Some people are just stupid.
