PURO Gdańsk Stare Miasto

I stayed at PURO Gdańsk Stare Miasto once before four years ago and really enjoyed my experience, so decided to return on my latest trip to Poland. All in all, this is a great hotel located in the heart of Gdańsk (close to all shops, bars, and restaurants) with beautiful rooms, everything you could possibly need. The breakfast has a fantastic range to choose from, there are bars on the ground floor and rooftop floor and thoroughly enjoyed all the services on offer. The staff were also very friendly and supportive, happily giving recommendations of local places to check out during my stay. The bed was very comfortable, I had no issues with noise or anything despite being close to one of the busier 'tourist' streets right outside the hotel. Also, there is a spa, sauna, and massage service on the lower floor of the hotel - this is probably one of the main reasons I returned to this hotel too, as the massage was absolutely incredible and 100% worth the money. You probably can't go wrong whichever you pick, and my only regret is that I didn't get more than one during my stay.

I felt like there could have been a slightly wider selection of TV channels in different languages, although this was a minor concern as I did not travel to Poland to stay indoors watching television (the same for most I expect). A plug socket closer to the bathroom mirror would have been ideal when using the hairdryer as the cord was fairly short. Another very minor point, but there was an Samsung tablet in the room which could be used for hotel services, e.g. ordering food and checking out after your stay - for some reason I could not find a way to turn this off at night so had to cover it to avoid the bright distracting light, but this may well be because I was completely oblivious as to which button would have done this.

Tell me please, should we still wait for somebody to fix the "smart TV, temperature and light" controller after we made a call with a report it didn't work on December the 30th? Negatives: no view outside the window, small room with minimum space, the smart controller out of order, the sky bar with no view and very little space

Very good location in the centre of Gdansk Old Town. Modern building with comfortable room and excellent breakfast buffet. Very helpful staff for ordering taxi etc. Really good value for money.

There is a construction next door so we were woken up at 6 every day. Not so pleasant during holidays.

The breakfast choice was fab - wide choice in buffet including lots of fresh fruit, fish, cheese, cold meat, pastries, cereals, yoghurts, pancakes and many cooked items. Added to that there was an A La Carte menu at no extra cost . Great coffee, juices, smoothies and bread and pastries too.

The only downside was noise at night. Our room was on 6th floor but it was very noisy even with windows closed and blinds pulled down . We had to use ear plugs. Noise was not only late at night but early morning too as revellers spilled out of Clubs and made a nuisance of themselves at 24 hour shop opposite hotel.

Hotel personnel: reception, bar and restaurant staff - everyone paid attention to us and were very polite and helpful. We felt welcomed. Reception manager was involved when we had minor problems with our room, but the issue was resolved timely and in a professional manner. Hotel is located in a very central area, which is a big plus. It has several cozy lounge areas, which we used to chill after breakfast or after exploring a city. When evenings were colder, we used sauna area which is offered to hotel guests free of charge. Speaking about breakfast, hotel offers a great variety of cold and hot options. There is a separate breakfast menu to order from. We liked everything we tried. There are two hotel bars, one in a lobby working till 23:00 and roof top bar called Ink above which is working longer. We liked cocktails at Ink above bar.

Gorgeous property, room was exceptional and the breakfast was brilliant. Lots of food choices in the buffet with a choice of a set breakfast. The hotel is very modern and clean, it also includes a spa which lets you enter the sauna for free. The location is perfect, close to all the hot spots in Gdansk. I would recommend to anyone coming to Gdansk to stay here!

The only issue I would say is the scaffolding outside, so the view isn’t great if you are at the back of the hotel. It’s loud from 7am to 5pm ish so if you’re planning to be out this time then I wouldn’t worry.

It was the best hotel experience in my life so far. Very clean and cozy rooms. Very comfortable shower and nice shower gel and shampoo. Great staff - they are always ready to help with any questions or problems. Very good location: in centrum and around 20 minutes walk to central train station. Cool bar at the top floor with live music. Also there is an option to make laundry and ironing. Or just borrow an iron and ironing board (what we did). You could communicate with staff and use different services via a tablet which was inside the room. Everything was just really perfect for us.

The bathroom has transparent walls. There is a curtain outside it one wall and this curtain could divide the room into 2 parts: one with beds, TV, etc and other with the hallway and the bathroom. But the wall between the hallway and the bathroom is always uncovered. It wasn't a problem for us but could be for some people. Also it would be great to have Netflix installed on the TV :)

the interior design of the whole property was amazing. the ink bar above had great atmosphere and service. using key card to use lift nice added bit of security. rooms were lovely and super comfortable and everything was working. only downside is paid for deluxe room to get view of canal but got a view of the building site next door which meant had to have curtains shut because of construction workers.

the breakfast couldn’t have had better options/getting a servers attention to order on the al a carte menu was difficult. more plant based options for coffee. tv couldn’t get just English options, even when change the language it would still have polish over the top. also couldn’t use the tv remote on the tablet very easily/the little remote given (not sure what it was for but it didn’t work)

A hotel with a wonderful interior! Every space is perfectly thoughtful - the leasure area, the work area, and especially the restaurant! Excellent food, wide choice of breakfast. Comfortable bed, good size room with all the necessary facilities. The location is particularly good - restaurants of various cuisines are just outside the door, the river and various places of interest are right here.

The window of our room was on the inside of the hotel (very intresting interior!), so there was no fresh air at night.
