Ramada by Wyndham Targu Jiu

As couple we stayed 2 days at Ramada by Wyndham and in our opinion this is the best hotel in Tirgu-Jiu. The room was cozy with nice design touches which make accommodation very pleased. Also the room was equipped with a mini bar, full of great stuff, a flat TV screen and a comfortable bed. Impeccable bathroom with modern walk in shower. Jacuzzi and swimming pool with heated water. Employees were very polite and very helpful. Thank Ramada for excellent services!

Nice quiet location. The swimming pool was good size, not very crowded, although it seems that there is a swimming class with 3-4 local kids every evening. There are two saunas, one dry and one humid. Massage is also available. The staff was very polite. Always ready to help. Breakfast was standard, nothing special. Big, warm and clean rooms and showers. Pool towels in each room. No in-room refrigerator, only a minibar full of drinks. Good size fitness with several machines. Still, one has to pay extra to get access to it as it is not included in the room price. Plenty of free parking space. Very accessible from the main city boulevard. There is a big supermarket just a couple of minutes drive away.

The central heating is a bit too noisy. Also, its controls are centralized, so not much you can do about it. The rooms are cleaned daily. There are numerous signs for environmentally conscientious people to press a button and leave a red light on in front of the room to tell staff not to clean when not necessary. However, as we experienced it by ourselves, it turns out the red light goes off when you remove the electronic card key from the switch by the door. So, really no way to prevent the useless daily cleaning, which is very unfortunate. Reading the hotel offer, we were left with the impression that the access to the pool was included in the room charge. That was not the case and we were asked to pay extra for every day of our stay. Not happy with that.

Everything was excellent!! The room, the bed, the pillows, the quilt, the desk in the room, the bathrobe, the shampoo and body lotion "Roots", the swimming pools inside and outside, the water slides, the restaurant, the decoration. Everything was clean and beautiful, polite staff. Great value for money!! Absolutely recommended!! If I visit Targu Jiu again, I definitely will stay in Ramada hotel again!!

A bit far away from the center, about 3,5km, but you may reach it on foot or taxi (3,5 euros), but the hotel is the best and worths!!

Quality of refurbishment, mattress, pillow, consumables, cleanliness, polite personnel.

The breakfast was a little bit poor. The volume of the TV is not electronically limited to a decent level and another guest put it at the maximum level at 07:00 making it impossible to sleep in a lot of rooms around.

Location: very quiet area, somehow out of the city, but in the same time close enough to the city center. Facilities: rooms, SPA, massage Outside pool is also available, but in a late October not something that you want to try 😉 Staff: awesome

Restaurant: the food is good, but I think on a range from 0 to 10, will be somewhere at 7-8. Definitely not starving, but for sure not fine dining. Even one staff member should be more "customer oriented". If you use booking.com , the SPA access is not included in the room rate (additional charges).

We loved the outside and especially the inside pool and spa area. Amazing... Staff was very helpful in attending to our requests. The executive suite was big comfortable and clean.

The food at the hotel was not great we ordered a pizza which was more like a frozen pizza from lidl. i recommend you to eat dinner in the city center which you need to drive to. The hotel is a bit pricey especially the food and drinks.

It’s a new hotel, the room is very spacious and modern, the bathroom is big as well. They changed our towels and supplimented our toiletries every day. We had the “mountain view” that was quite underwhealming but it was okay. I liked that we had an electric boiler and tea in the room; also, the bed was comfy. For an extra fee of 80 ron/room/day you can use the indoor pool and saunas, they will provide you with robes and towels. They also have a restaurant, not the best but good.

We were there for New Year’s and we were expecting they will have something going on, but they closed the restaurant and bar at 10pm. We were dissapointed and had no plan B so NYE was kind of boring. The walls are thin, you can hear everything even though they claim the rooms have soundproofing. Also, it’s pretty far away from the city centre / attractions, so keep this is mind. The mini fridge wasn’t plugged in and we struggled a lot to fix it, also the tv doesn’t have “smart” functions, it’s just a regular one.

Everything was like new and very clean. Rooms were spacious and had great views. We had all the facilities we needed and the bed was very comfortable.

The apartment we booked was for 3 adults and one of them had to sleep on the sofabed which was to be expected but it was not made up. We had to find the beddings ourselves, pull out the sofa and make the bed which would be fine if not for the price we paid. We also asked for a cot with our booking which was not provided.

The customer care experience was outstanding. We enjoyed a nice dinner, and the next morning my husband hit the gym, while my in-laws relaxed at the pool. We are grateful for a great service provided by the entire staff.

Big room.

We chose this property because of their good advertise-the pool, which we had to pay for an extra 30 Euro fee to get access to. Nevertheless the price for the pool was initial included in the room facilities, the staff pointed to the Booking fault. We were informed about the extra price that we had to pay at the check out. They also mentioned that if we had made the reservation not from Booking the price would have been ZERO.
