This place makes every single penny you spent so worth it . We spend few times browsing for the best safari trip and Garden Route is just perfect than just doing a safari day trip . IF you calculate per person for family of 3 its cheaper and the amenities are just amazing . We had 2x safari tour one in the afternoon and next day in the morning , The experience we had are just wow . My son was so happy our room was next to swimming pool . The food in the restaurant were included dinner and breakfast and all was great ! We also booked the return transfers from Cape town it was worth it .
I bought mosquito spray and didnt have to use it because there were no mosquitoes not even flies hahahha .

Although only a stone throw away from N2 you really dig into a kind of safari feeling. The game drives were really good, our guide Henri was excellent and as the animals are familiar with the cars and visitors you get really close by to watch them. Food was very good and delicious and we like it that it is served at the table and not in buffet style. We had some problems with our first room, it was finally solved and handled professionally and to our most satisfaction. The general manager Emilia gave us the feeling that customer satisfaction is absolutely important to them. We absolutely enjoyed our 3 nights stay.

Fantastic safari trip! The heated pool was a fantastic facility for our September trip, we spent a lot of our stay poolside. The staff in the restaurant were extremely friendly and accommodating. Our driver, Thomas, was very informative and fun during the game drives.
We arrived to the game lodge after an early flight at 10am. The website states that early guests are welcome to come and use the facilities, however, upon arrival the receptionist did not give the impression that we were welcome and seemed annoyed by our early arrival which was disappointing. Another employee (not receptionist) saw us there and made us feel welcome by explaining the facilities, etc, and told us we could store our baggage and use the facilities which put us at ease. the receptionist then had an argument with this lady in front of us over the inconvenience of our luggage being stored at reception.

The view from the pool and the luxury room I booked. To be surrounded by nature. The food. The ambiance. At the check-out, I have been listened to tell what went "wrong" during my stay. The fact that you can still enjoy the pool / the view before you leave. The assistance for the pieces of luggage.
I have been confused with the safari meeting point. I have been told it was next to my room but in the end it was the further one. The breakfast should be like a buffet, so that when you arrive at 9h00 from the game drive you do not need to wait too long to start having your breakfast and take your time before the check-out at 10.30 a.m. I planned to have breakfast from 9 to 10h00 and to pack and be on time for the check-out but I started eating at 9h40 or 45 ! So I could not enjoy all the lovely food the way I thought. If you stay 1 night, You do not see the girafes; and you can feel it is not that wild. So if People want to see wild animal an other game reserve is better even if you can spend à good time there for sure. And it is I Hope good for species conservation.

A wonderful game lodge with the opportunity to spend an unforgettable time. We arrived around 15:00, check-in was very quick and we managed to spend about an hour relaxing by the pool overlooking the savannah. At 16:30 the first game drive began, our guide Thomas was beyond praise. In the evening we saw antelopes, hippos, rhinos, buffalo and finished it off with a small picnic at sunset. Upon returning we had a bonfire with music and a wonderful three course dinner (I highly recommend the roasted antelope) with good wines. The morning game drive started at 7 and we saw elephants, cheetahs, lions, anelopes and rhinoceroses approaching the car itself. Afterwards we had a wonderful breakfast with a choice from the menu. I think we need to come again.

Everything! From the start, a cheerful welcome at the gate laid the foundation for what proved to be a thoroughly enjoyable 24 hours. All the staff were cheerful, friendly, helpful, and genuinely seemed happy in their jobs. A happy staff usually means a good experience and so it was here. Very well organised programme, lovely rooms, delicious food and excellent guiding giving us the opportunity to enjoy all the main animals on the reserve. Would I come again? You bet I would!
Nothing! Everything was so good.

Just after arrival at 2pm we spent a great relaxing afternoon with our two daughters at the pool. The Lodge has a pool area for adults and a pool area for kids and families. In the late afternoon we went on our first game drive on a special vehicle with our guide Hannes who did a really great job. He explained a lot about the different animals, his knowledge was amazing and it was SO interesting! Coming quite a long way from Germany and during the first time staying in the Garden Route Game Lodge 6 years ago for the first time our second daughter was a one year old baby and everyone in the lodge was great with her also during the game drives while others accept kids above 6 years only. If we have the chance to come back we will try to meet our guide Hannes again, but of course also all the other guides are doing a great job as well! Within few years the lodge developped in a very good way and became larger with more animals and a bigger renaturated area - a great success, congratulation from our side! Breakfast and dinner were excellent - thank you so much! It was so nice coming back, we have enjoyed every minute of our stay, a precious time… Thank you!!

We found this a nice experience for my Mum who was in RSA for the first time. The game drives were good - they were twice a day rain hail or shine - however the knowledge of our driver was only ok. Two pools. a Lounge room (a fire but the bar isn’t serviced), we’re good.
It was a constant source of frustration - people would bring their children to the adults only pool, but the staff wouldn’t do a thing about it. Not the pool bar staff, not the managers. There was an equal sized family pool 2 Mts away! Not everyone wants to hear or be around children, and the child free area was one of the reasons we choose this place.

We had a really brilliant stay. We absolutely loved the Game Drives with our driver Brandon. We saw some incredible animals, and enjoyed Brandon's information and guiding. The sunset sun downers were a nice addition! Really pleasently suprised by the quality of food on offer too. The pool area is really amazing, such incredible views over the reserve while enjoying an afternoon cocktail! It was our first experience of a Game reserve, and we would love to return.
Bathroom was a little dusty - and ants in the toilet (but didn't bother us, we are in the middle of a

The booking was part of a safari experience. It was really easy to get to from Cape Town (one road the N2). All the staff were lovely and friendly and you could tell that the guides are passionate about what they do. They know where to find the animals on Safari and were very knowledgeable. The food was amazing and had good menu choices all served in a lovely restaurant with great views. We had a massage at the on-site spa which was very good and great value. I would highly recommend this place to stay and do a safari.
There was nothing not to like. If I am being picky, the Wi-Fi was not great and there was the odd power cut in the room for a few seconds, which i think was due to an issue out of the hotels control, but this is me being ultra picky.
