One Saturday myself and wife and baby came from a family trip and had loadshedding at home for 4 hours on a Saturday. we decided to go to City lodge for the first time and the service we recieved was so nice that. On the 13th January 2024 I told my wife it's hot let's go to City lodge Pinelands with our 1 year old daughter and wow the love my daughter got from the staff while having breakfast really made our family want to come there again as she was so loved by the kitchen staff and everybody. We enjoyed our stay very much. We used the little fitness room for some movement and enjoyed an exceptional dinner in the hotel-restaurant. The atmosphere was cozy and we truly felt at home. Everything was spotless clean.

We did have a little issue with our breakfast take-aways, as we were being picked up very very early in the morning. At check-in we filled out forms with our preferences concerning sandwiches and drinks. In the morning, one breakfast box was forgotten und neither box contained our preferences. If you pay for breakfast on the go we recommend you double check!

We did not do the hotel's breakfast. So no comment. The location is very good and it's easy by car to get to the V&A Waterfront, or the beach in Sea Point etc. The classy Cattle Baron on the same premises gives one a beautiful eating option. We loved our overall stay with excellent service and support from Reception to Staff, Housekeeping and even at the entrance boom.

The lack of DSTV sports channels in the room where one should be given the opportunity to relax and watch an important sporting event whilst on holiday. We were deprived of watching the Soccer World Cup Final and the cricket test between Australia and South Africa, in the comfort of our room. The quality of the TV reception can be improved. The location of the power points in the room can be reviewed with customer convenience in mind.

Having a restaurant within the hotel is super, as we did not want to travel for dining, and we were extremely happy with the food choices and quality. The breakfasts are fabulous. The pool area is also well laid out, nice pool and protected from the wind. The staff are so warm and friendly, and go out of their way to ensure you are happy. Due to complications with our flight back to Canada we needed a late checkout, and the staff helped us in this regard, even though the hotel was busy, and we did not need to change rooms. So appreciated!!!!

Having a shuttle to the airport and back would be great.

We had two interleading rooms which we'd asked for and were ideal for us. The beds were comfortable and the rooms nice and dark and quiet. Bathrooms were spotless. Easy to help yourself to a good variety of things for breakfast. The Cattle Baron restaurant is right next door to the hotel which made it very convenient, and we enjoyed a lovely steak supper there.

The invoice on checking out was confusing (it itemised several pluses and minuses which I didn't understand) but I think I paid the right amount in the end!

Location was great. Quiet place with beautiful scenery. Liked the clear view of table Mountain at the reception entrance. Staff warm and responsive. Nice comfortable rooms. Good food, liked having 2 options at the hotel grounds, meals at hotel vs meals at cattle baron. Didn't experience Load shedding at the hotel despite that occurring elsewhere, hence my work wasn't affected.

Minor issue: Not having bottled drinking water in rooms.

Hotel is close to the freeway. Bonita the chef is amazing, best omelet in Cape Town! breakfast times are long enough, they don’t chase you away if you’re a bit late, very efficient. Restaurant on site serves amazing food! Cattle Baron Designated smoking area is perfect. The food on site is delicious, we enjoyed their burgers, pizzas, cocktails. They sanitised everything.

The hotel doesn’t have irons in the rooms, as a result, the wait is extremely long when you request an iron from housekeeping. They can definitely improve on that so that guests aren’t inconvenienced by the long wait. There was no cappuccino on the last day, so the hotel can try avoid that in future. Housekeeping knocked and came in our room before we even responded, she apologized but that was an inconvenience, they also knock too early in the morning, so they need to avoid that. I unfortunately lost my iPhone earphones at the hotel room. We realised when we got home that they might have been taken by housekeeping at the hotel.

Like the environment, the excellent room and size. Was kept very clean and clean on arrival. Service was excellent, friendly staff. We were received very good and professionally and also on checking out.

We shared the weekend with a visiting hockey team and had a room in their proximity and adjacent. The kids played in the hallway, bumping our door with no regard. A bit of an irritation, but none your fault.

The location and its cleanliness..

That there are no phones anymore, it sometimes takes forever for staff to respond on WhatsApp. Also did not like that there is no room service anymore, you have to go down to order then go down again to get food.

Very central from shopping centres and hospital. Everything so well kept. All staff very helpful and friendly.

The limited TV channels and then 3 of them were frozen and could not be watched. There are some of us that likes tennis and Rugby and for us there is not one of these channels to watch. Did not have breakfast. Would prefer just a small breakfast from a menu.
