The staff were warm, helpful and friendly. The setup of the facilities encourages interaction among guests. The location is central and great for restaurants, pubs, etc.

A suggestion to add a lounge chair to the room for comfy seating when in room. The fan works well in the room, but the room does get quite warm, and then, when opening the window, the almost invisible mozzies get you. Consider aircon or a solution for the mosquitoes. As an additional safety feature, only guests should be allowed to open the door to gain access to the rooms from the stairwell.

Stayed in a private room and was happy with the size and comfort, except poor noice cancelation (single glas windows). Try get a room facing the back is my advice (think they call it ”mountain view”). Kloof street is a nice street with many cafés, bars and restaurants (book a table at Black Sheep further up the street for a nice lunch or dinner!). If you walk down the street you will end up at Long street, a more ”rough” area full of bars. In general this hostel is clean, comfortable and quite calm. In the bar downstairs they play music until 10 PM, and makes nice sandwiches you can buy for breakfast.

Except the street noice, it could be worth pointing out that there is no AC (but nights were chilly when I stayed there in december, only 15 degrees). Except cafés, restaurants and nightlife you should be prepared to take Ubers to get around town or for example go to the beach, but they are also very cheap.

Really friendly and helpful staff, as far as I have experienced. All rooms are made every day, which is extraordinary for a hostel. The Watsapp group was not really as active as I thought, but probably due to the off-season. Volunteers are chilled, and you can easily hang out with them. Modern bathroom and hostel overall. It's a little bit more expensive than other hostels in the area, but it's definitely worth it.

It would have been nice if the staff had informed me about a special discount if you extended your stay for a couple of nights.

Had a great stay at Never at Home Kloof street. The staff are super friendly and happy to help you out in anyway that they can. I stayed in a 4 person dorm room and a private room during my stay and I would say both rooms exceeded my expectations for value of money. Rooms were very clean and spacious enough not to feel cramped. An added bonus is 4 person dorms have a private shared en-suite. Great atmosphere on an evening as the bar starts to pick up, didn't seem to have much trouble sleeping with ear plugs although music isn't played after 12.00am if I remember correctly. Would stay again & recommend to a friend. only negative I can think of is there is no pool, but that wasn't a problem for me.

Nothing that would make me not recommend or stay again.

The hostel is very central and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. There are many great tours and activities offered directly from the hostel (hiking, excursions, games evenings, yoga...) The room was clean, everything was great, but unfortunately I have one BUT ...

... there is a ?generator? behind the hostel, when it is on (overnight) it can be very difficult to sleep :(

The reception is extremely helpful. They have group whats app. an excellent idea. So I do not need to go to reception all the time. They arranged shuttle for me at around 4 am in the morning. reception helped me to carry my suitcase up to the the third floor and down the stairs as well. overwhelming.

Although I have given 10 out of 10, I need to say that a group came who were extremely loud in the eating area and in the kitchen. Although they did not behave anything wrong. but the shouting was extreme. I think they should set up some consequence for this type of behaviour.

I loved the location! It was very central for me. So many places in walking distance. The staff here are friendly and helpful. Very diverse guests from all over. The shared room was better than expected. I felt comfortable and safe here.

Noise may bother some people. I wore ear plugs so that helped. I didn't like the top bunk (not their fault). Bunk beds are a little noisy and more difficult to navigate when you are on top, and older. p.s. I didn't know about "Clifton 3rd Beach," from question below. Wish someone would have told me.

Room was clean. Bed was very comfy. Mountain view was gorgeous. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Michaela, Dioka and Nique. Luggage storage facilities were great. Loved games night with locals and staff members.

The security between the bar Yours Truly and Never @ Home. No heating. Some really cold nights, 2 blankets and duvet weren't enough as room cold. The location, but I felt safe with ordering ubers for personal safety.

I’ve frequented Cape Town before and this hostel is attached to one of my favourite bars and that was a highlight for me. The people are very friendly I was able to make friends very easily. Overall it was a good stay.

The only thing I would think to be an issue is for someone who might not like a lot of noise at night but the bar does close down at 12 so there is times in the night where there is complete silence.
