Schulphoek Seafront House

The room was amazing, with a great view of the ocean. Nice big bathroom with a bath and shower. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was delicious, with great options and good portions. The fruit, muesli and yoghurt was my favourite. We really enjoyed our stay and wish we stayed longer 😊

The only issue we had was with the TV and a few of the plug points not working. This was fixed immediately when I called to mention it, however, the issue persisted throughout our stay. This should be looked into for a permanent fix. It wasn't much of a bother to us, as we were out most of the time, so ignored it for the most part. However, it was a bit of a letdown when the TV went off during the rugby 🙈

Room view was stunning but needed one way glass on the window as privacy was a problem. Breakfast was excellent. Service and staff were exceptional. Very happy. Thank you.

They could have had mosquito mats. The mosquitos were bad. The room was stunning with a great view but the big glass window is see-through so privacy was a bit of an issue with a road right in front of the room. And closing the curtains with such a lovely sea view is not an option.

The location was on the sea front and we had beautiful views from our view window which was the size of a wall. Looking out watching for whales was a joy. The staff were wonderful and each and every one of them made our stay that more special. The food was excellent and always prepared and presented with a wonderful smile. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay magical, we will be back!

A surprising gem that could not be located closer to the breaking waves. We stayed in the nice rooms was amazing and huge!! Particular nice touch was the automatic curtains that can e controlled from the bed. Cannot fault this place and extremely well run. A free shuttle service into town was a great bonus!!

Breakfast was very slow and served on ice cold plates in the middle of freezing weather. Wine selection was rather limited and very ex[pensive for what it was.

Upon our arrival, our room had been upgraded which was a lovely bonus. The GM was an absolute pleasure and went out of her way to help with anything we requested.

The service at Breakfast was a little slow due to shortage of staff. One staff member had to help all the patrons, when eventually the Cook would come out and help clear tables, take orders etc. The cleaning of the apartment could have been slightly better.

Lovely guest house. Close enough to the city to explore. The view from the sea facing rooms is superb. The beach is in close proximity. The staff were really friendly. Peaceful and quiet area. They have backup power should typical South African issues arise. Would stay here again.

Was just a series of unfortunate events. The power was out in the town and the backup at the property also failed on our arrival. Although not the fault of the owners, our first night was miserable. Considering all things, the staff did best with what they could. The second day was much better.

Breakfast was five star, we were met with freshly squeezed juice upon dining, followed by your choice of cereal or mixed fruits with plain yoghurt and muesli. The main is tailored to your specifications and you could have anything from lentil pancake with mince to omelette stuffed with your choice of delicacies, absolutely scrumptious.

Supposedly the shower water could have been warmer given the cold weather, but they did their best taking into consideration the whole place was powered from a portable generator as the transformer in the area was out.

Quiet, discreet location away from the town with uninterrupted ocean views. The team are professional, kind, attentive and knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast is personalized, home made muffins and granola by Nomfundo. Albert is a gem, he manages the shuttle service to and from town. The decor, ambience and spaciousness (huge rooms thoughtfully laid out) all adds to a restful trip. Walk along the cliff path is also pleasant and the locals are friendly. Hermanus is a delightful town, and Schulphoek the perfect hideaway. Albert and his colleague made a delicious hot chocolate and Amarula drink with cream!

There is nothing to not like. My only uncertainty was how the tips that I left the staff would be distributed, the system for distribution and governance was not clear to me.
