Fuentepiedra Casa Rural Categoría Superior

Beautiful building, completely authentic - we chose it for the experience and it didn't disappoint. Roof terrace lovely for an evening drink (BYO) looking at the castle and the stars. Comfortable bed, good linen, nice bathroom, strong shower, good air-con. Location perfect, easy free parking in several places around town, nice bars/restaurants/cafes very close and 5-minute drive to the castle.

A shame to scrimp on little things that make a difference. Breakfast basic, as lots of others have said, and not befitting a superior casa rural; fresh bread and orange juice but almost everything else in plastic pots (oil, jam, tomato, butter, buns). Coffee in a flask and not the usual Spanish quality. Much, much better/fresher breakfast available very cheaply in the nearby cafés so would recommend eating out. Toiletries also in plastic & made in China - disappointing as they made a point of telling us about the glass bottle of tap water being better for the environment (lip-service always a disappointment - rather they didn't mention it unless they really care).

The owners are a lovely couple who obviously take great pride in their hotel. This is an old building that has been lovingly restored into a beautiful small hotel. The whole place was very clean and the rooms are modernised with super comfortable beds. The view of the castle from the roof terrace in the evening is superb. If you are a Game of Thrones fan or visiting the area for a wedding at the castle, this hotel is an excellent location for you. There are several great restaurants right outside the hotel and also some close by convenience stores.

We had a slight issue with parking but this was mainly because it was Carnival weekend and of course no fault of the hotel.

We chose to stay in Almodovar del Rio instead of in the centre of Cordoba. We enjoyed our short stay at this comfortable, modernized Moorish style house with an interior courtyard. It is located in the centre of the old town close to a square with bars and restaurants. There is a free car park close to the hotel. It is an easy 30min drive into Cordoba.

The breakfast was limited - we had stayed in a number of similar places on this trip where breakfast was set out as a buffet but I guess due to Covid-restrictions at Fuentepieda nothing was on display and what was offered was quite basic. The coffee had been made in a flask and was not hot by the time we were served.

Beautiful and traditional hotel with clean with good sized rooms in a very romantic setting, with stunning views of the castle from the terrace on the top floor. Very comfortable, good breakfast and there is also parking nearby. Friendly hosts who took their time to show us around and tell us about its history.

The room was quiet and comfortable. Parking was close by and free. The view to the castle from the roof terrace was astonishing. The owners were lovely.

The room had only a very small, high window from which there was no view. You had to stand on the bed to open it.

Amazing hidden location, right in the heart of Almodovar del Rio! The hosts were kind and welcoming, showed us around, prepared a very good breakfast for us and really impressed us with the authentic way they refurbished this beautiful old house! The view of the castle from the roof terrace was to die for and so was the restaurant accross the street! Overall, the perfect stay for some peace and quiet in rural Andalucia or for any GoT enthusiasts who whish to step into the Lannister's fortress

Great to have the additional help reaching the hotel and getting parking sorted out. The history of the property and location were really good if touring Castle Almodovar.

Driving the streets around the property was challenging for a North American. Very tight areas to navigate.

Had a lovely stay in this beautiful very authentic hotel, the owners were very welcoming, kind and helpful..gorgeous rooms very comfortable and spotlessly clean highly recommend.

we liked everything. Angel and Pepa were very kind, gived us useful information and very nice feeling. The place and the room were very beautiful and special. The terace is amaizing with the view to the Castle!

That we staied there only one day

We enjoyed being in a small town. The hotel is authentic. There are beautiful tiles throughout the living spaces. The owners are friendly, courteous, and welcomed us.
