Staff incredibly kind and helpful, bathroom clean and straightforward, bed was comfy and the AC helped with temperature control for sleep. I could have slept all day in there! Perfect location in the city too. Would definitely stay again.

Whatever fragrance they use in the bedrooms is a very strong and headache inducing; running the air helped move it along a little. Wifi could have been faster.

It is a safe place, right by the Gran Via. The building has 6 floors and has a group of individual hostels. Overall, the owners were nice, but are not flexible to change. We stayed for 10 nights and wanted to have 2 beds instead of a queen. They could not accommodate my needs. I asked if they had an iron, they did not have one, so I used the hair dryer to iron my clothes. A concierge opened the main steel doors after 10pm with a pass from our hotel so I felt very safe. But unfortunately, my husband got pick pocketed on our first day in Madrid walking to the hotel with our luggage by a gypsy. But that wasn’t the hotel’s fault.

The hairdryer didn't work fine, so that one was very annoying. The breakfast was mainly muffins and toasts and for an intercontinental , could be a better copious meal. Such as the English breakfast. The fridge could have some drinks.

So the best thing about this hotel is obviously the location, being fairly central in Madrid and only a few minutes walk from the Gran Via metro station. Despite the location, the room (I stayed in 611) was actually very quiet, with no noise from the frantically busy streets. The decor throughout is very nice and the shower was excellent.

The staff all leave at 10pm, leaving the building's guard in charge, but he is based on the ground floor and the hotel is on the sixth, so there is no-one to control the guests. During the second night of my stay, there were a few people having a full-on conversation in the middle of the hallway at midnight. They also started playing music, and having very little consideration for anyone else. These people were constantly in and out of their rooms, and despite what the name may suggest, this isn't a hostel, yet people treated it as so. If there was a member of staff there, I doubt that this would happen. It's also worth noting that the hotel corridor floor is exceptionally creaky, and not in a quiet way, but in a way that is audible throughout the whole hotel. It is very easy to be kept awake throughout a lot of the night due to the reconsideration of others. I would also say that it needs to be made clearer where the entrance to the hotel is as the sign is ridiculously small, and it isn't within two doors of number 17, making it very confusing. If you have trouble finding it, just look for the opticians and it's a few doors to the left.

Excellent location. The whole place is very clean and the bathroom is refurbished. Tiny rooms, but this was expected. The staff attitudes vary.

It was not city view as confirmed. No sound isolation at all between the rooms, you can hear literally everything what is happening next to you. Contactless payment does not work, insert your card to avoid some stressful minutes.
