The hotel is right in the main square with restaurants all around - super! The owner was very friendly. I had great trouble understanding the parking meter in the square - it was one of those with keypads and inputs required (I thought). The owner accompanied me to the machine and sorted and paid for my overnight stay. He would not accept my money! So friendly.

I speak a little Spanish but there was a difficulty understanding the owner when we checked in. He gave us two keys and pointed to the front door area with one key and to the upstairs area with the other. I though one key must be to gain access to the hotel and one for the room. I only twigged the next day that he was offering us a choice of rooms, one at the front and one at the back! So really apart from the parking problem and the language difficulty I have little to complain about. I think hotel safety instructions should be in English as well as Spanish.

nice welcome at reception, we had a room overlooking the plaza, it is dog friendly, dog was allowed into the breakfast area, excellent value for money. breakfast was good enough. it’s s great location on the plaza and well worth a stay.

noisy outside when the bars below were packing up and taking tables and chairs in at 11.00 pm. this was January so i would assume in summer when the bars close at 2.00 am you will get the noise then. best ask for a room at the rear of the hotel if you are a light sleeper.

Everything! Great location and beautiful building. The breakfast room in particular was amazing, and the addition of an elevator was really useful. Breakfast was the best we have had our entire trip, great choice and lovely quality food. Spotlessly clean and room serviced daily. Zafar itself was an unexpected treat, it's a truly beautiful town and we'll worth a visit. Highly recommended

Would have preferred separate pillows rather than the single bolster type but this style is typically Spanish I believe.

The location is PERFECT! On the beautiful village square. The staff is sooooooo NICE! It's a beautiful family hotel. The breakfast was the best I had in Spain so far! A lot of choices and great coffee. Really enjoyed it. They also put a stamp in my pilgrim's passport. A perfect place to rest while doing the Camino Via de la Plata. When I left they even gave me an extra little bottle of water. My room was at the back and really quiet. This family is really putting some love in this place!

This hotel enjoys a super location, bang on the main square of Zafra. It is a pretty little place with lovely, helpful owners. We parked right opposite the hotel on the square during the night for around 6 eur, just as long as you drive off by 10am. The breakfast was delicious, with a good selection and served in a lovely decorated dining room. The room and bathroom were very clean and a good working AC helped in the heat. The bed and pilows were comfortable. This hotel is right in the middle of Zafra life with a selection of lovely restaurants at your doorstep, especially in the pretty Plaza Chica I would stay again here since, I liked the hotel and it gave me a good feeling.

Everything was dealt with so straightforwardly at the hotel: our request to stay with two dogs (of course, no problem, no annoying questions asked); our request for a double bed and not two singles (of course, as they imagined); the room we were given (after a choice of two we picked one looking out over the square and despite the much appreciated warning that it may be noisy on a Friday night, we were happy we chose the front facing room); breakfast (generous) in the main dining area with the dogs (it will be fine); late check out time (up to 12:00 noon, as standard). Just so easy and lovely.

The wifi was not the best but hey, you can't have everything

The centre of Zafra is small and the hotel is situated in the main square. Parking for unloading good but longer-term parking not quite so straightforward. We were given keys to two different rooms to make our choice and we appreciated that. Rooms small but interestingly decorated and, despite one looking over the very busy square, quiet. A good breakfast served in a covered patio area by the only member of staff that we ever saw.

The owner/operator was helpful and nice. We are traveling by bike and they were stored in a room adjacent to the reception. My room was comfortable, and breakfast was tasty.

There was no hot water when I showered in the afternoon. My traveling companion reported the same but said there was hot water in the evening. This was a minor thing.

Breakfast very good especially the coffee! The location was in the main square which was very lively. We did not request a quiet room but one with a balcony over the square, which we got. The hotel retains its original and quaint features and we particularly loved the atrium roof over the dining room. Amazing vale for money!
