Very comfortable room in a fantastic location. Staff were accommodating and, unlike some of the other reviews here, I found the breakfast to be quite plentiful and diverse in its selection.

I was worried about the potential for loud music late into the night (as many other reviewers have commented about) especially because I stayed over a Friday night. While there was some heavy bass coming through the walls, it was neither as loud, disturbing, nor as late as I had initially feared. I got a pretty good night sleep! Only two things to mention: I messaged to request an early check-in but no one ever replied, though it ended up being okay and I was able to check in at 10:00AM as I had hoped. The second was that the kettle in my room was broken. Aside from that, a very decent stay. Would probably return next time I'm in Colombo!

The location of the hotel is great. Nearby there are very good restaurants and bars. It's just across the Old Dutch Hospital complex. The staff is nice and friendly.

Very centrally located within walking distance from most amenities. The staff were very polite and helpful. They open the door for you and carry your luggage from the taxi up until your room. The room was reasonably spacious and it was really value for money. A hotel taxi was available to ferry us to the airport after our stay.

Breakfast was the main issue. We kept being moved between the rooftop bar and restaurant and the restaurant on the ground floor. No information was communicated to us as to where to go. Each time we had to go to the reception the night before to know where to go for breakfast the next day.

The location is perfect for exploring the older parts of Colombo, and for accessing transport to other parts of the city and the country - the main Fort Railway Station is not far away. Also the pleasantly restored Dutch Hospital, as a venue for restaurants, coffee, etc, is just across the street. The room was well equipped but on the small side for 2 people with luggage. Breakfast on the roof terrace, provided by an outside service, was adequate, although most days we settled for a coffee at the pleasant coffee shop next door to the hotel. Overall, a very good choice for our 10 day stay.

Nothing very much. Extending our stay by a day, to suit flight schedules, was more of a hassle than it should have been, but only a minor quibble.

We thought there was a rooftop bar ,but when we investigated it transpired that the rooftop restaurant was not part of the hotel.Therefore we could not sit and have a drink but you had to have a meal. We did try the breakfast one morning and it was abysmal..worst breakfast ever. Then I had to pay cash ,as soon as breakfast ended.It could not be charged to the room….So went down ,got money, then had to wait 10 mins for the guys to find any change…..Seriously the hotel management need to fix this problem..

Nice room and great service. The staff was great. The travel desk was helpful in guiding us for the sightseeing tour. We were provided a nice car and the driver was very helpful as well.

There are 3 separate restaurant options in the menu but very limited options to order from. The food is also not good. We had ordered pasta and batter fried prawns for in-room dining. Pasta was really bad. You can prepare much better at home. The batter on the prawns was too thick. They should improve the food and add more options.

- Check-in was slow. - Check-out was even slower, with us having to wait for someone to go check the room before we can leave to make sure everything is fine. Never seen that anywhere else. idk what bad experience they had in the past but it sure isn't worth making all your guests wait like this - Some worker was trying to fix something in a room next door, and while trying to be as quiet as possible, was still quite loud, especially at 10pm... I wish it was better planned. - There was a very annoying blinking green light over the bed, idk what for, but its location was the worst, it was blinking right in our faces. - The shower was leaking water on the bathroom's floor to an extent where the provided towels were not enough, it was a tiny annoyance but like I'm just being picky here.

The bed was very comfortable. A very large room, nice shower. Staff was great, helpful in every way. Rooftop bar/restaurant is amazing. Best views in the city! Great food there as well!

There seems to be a problem with the rooftop bar...when we checked in, I believe they mentioned the upstairs bar/restaurant, however nothing else was said....we were actually very tired upon arrival. The following day we noticed it was on the rooftop and was told our key needed to be programmed to get up there. My husband was downstairs at one point asking for information and apparently there were a good number of people trying to get to the bar. Seems weird to me that everyone does not have automatic access.

After 6 weeks of budget travel in Sri Lanka, we really enjoyed being in a very clean place where the plumbing and electrical was developed world standard, for about half of what it costs at home. We only spent one night but it was very restorative. We had a lovely meal in the open air courtyard of the Tap Room across the street. Coffee from the lobby coffe shop was also very good.

Wifi security is poor. The secure Email communication via Booking.com was hacked and I received a fraudulent payment link. The hotel dismissed it as spam and took no responsibility. I had to be really persistent to get any support from Booking.com.
