First Hotel Central

(+) Location: Very central, within short walking distance to central area, landmarks, and restaurants. (+) Facilities: The room was comfortable, tidy, and modern. (+) Restaurant: The adjacent restaurant is amazing, and definitely worth visiting. Great interior decoration, broad selection of drinks, and very tasty food. (+) Price: Good value for money. In Sweden, you typically pay double for the same quality.

(-) Spa facilities: The spa area is located on the 5th floor, however you need to use the very unclean common elevator or the (also unclean) stairs to go there. Only a bathtub jacuzzi for 4 people, and a sauna room are available. Likely occupied most of the time, at least that was the case during our stay. The view from above is nice nevertheless.

The breakfast was fantastic and the room was very spacious.

In Booking.com, the hotel was indicated with parking spaces, but there were none available and you had to park on the street. Unfortunately, we were assured at checkin that we would only have to buy a parking ticket and then be allowed to park in that spot. The next morning we had a parking ticket of 916kr because we apparently parked too close to an intersection (8m instead of 10m from the intersection). Please inform your guests about such problems, especially if you know that the law enforcement agency is very strict!

A comfortable stay in the heart of the picturesque city of Norrköping. City life starts right at the doorstep of the hotel or, if you wish, in the good hotel bar/restaurant. The indoor design is a bit retro, but has all the basics plus a small fridge in your room if you wish to keep things cool. Friendly staff, and easy parking just outside (paid street parking). Trams and the innercity shops are a short walk away. If you'd like to "hike" the beautiful Industrial Landscape (highly recommended), it starts a few minutes away.

Chose this hotel due to its central location, breakfast, sauna with a view on the town and year-round jacuzzi in the open air (everything included in the room price). I am all-in-all satisfied with the mentioned points. It is possible to self check-in and check-out, which is quite convenient if you don't have any special needs. We also were able to check-in early, which was very nice. Though it was Saturday evening, there were only 4 people in the relax area (including us), which is good. There were vending machines with snacks and coffee on the floor, ironing facilities and a microwave. The restaurant at the hotel is nice. The main menu (we also had dinner there) offers food of good quality, but the choice is very limited. Yet there is a wide range of drinks. Breakfast was also quite good.

The staff would make you wait . Our cards weren't activated to enter the relax area with sauna, though I specifically asked about that area and said that we would visit it. So keep in mind, even though it's included into the cost, self check-in somehow doesn't enable it for you. We found out about this only after we couldn't get inside. That was frustrating. We had to wait for the receptionist for quite some time to get help, and this situation happened again at the restaurant where noone knew who would pick us up and show to our reserved table. Another issue is that the relax area was not very clean, there was a lot of water on the floor and the trash can was overflowing and noone cleaned it up.

Although not travelling for work, had to check email etc: very well set up double room with a small spot for work. Patchy wi-fi in the evening. Location though compensates - over a lovely restaurant/bar and so close to train and center of town.

Room a bit small even though double. Might have been tight for two persons. Unclear how to throw trash in the room (bin with multiple compartments not self-explanatory, but still very minor problems). Pity some sleek design elements were then patched with throwing in a small fridge and a table fan. - Still good these things were there...

Customer attention was very good. I had an issue with my room and they fixed them pretty quickly. Five stars to the ladies at the reception.

I did not like the breakfast. There was no fresh bread. Eggs were too cold (heating device was not really doing much)

The bed was really really comfy, the rooftop jacuzzi was a nice touch, didn't realise that the hotel had the jacuzzi and sauna. Excellent restaurant and bar. Nice showers too.

The corridors and stairs were basic and the walls needed painting, so it looked a bit tired. But the room was great.

very central location

Parking - one the ad it is mentioned there is a parking which was a main criterion for us. At our arrival, we were informed there is no parking and that we have the leave the car parked on the street and get up quite early to pay for the parking as night time is free of parking

Excellent location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast, huge choice. Excellent value . Will definitely visit again.

The shower doors could have been cleaner, and the room painted a lighter colour as it was so dark.

Central location, big rooms and friendly staff. There were many facilities available if which we sadly didn’t make use of. Despite being above a bar, not noisy.

Breakfast was good, maybe bread could be improved.
