Best Western Hotel Svava

I paid £134 for a two-night weekend stay in September. The hotel is directly opposite the railway station, so a good, central location. It is next to a shopping centre with a large supermarket and other shops, so handy to buy takeout food. The room was fine and the shower room larger than some I’ve been in recently, so no need to turn and twist when having a shower or using the toilet. The price included breakfast which was a good choice of food and hot scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage. The hotel will also do a takeout breakfast if you have to leave early. All in all a great price – I recently paid more than £134 for one night in a Hamburg hotel which was in a terrible area – particularly as Sweden is not a low cost country.

The breakfast was amazing!! The hotel itself is not so modern in style but the rooms have everything you need. The bed was very comfortable and the curtains really nice block any shade that may come from the outside which i was worried about upfront due to long days during Swedish summer. I really like the lights on the bed

Despite being clearly very clean, the room had a weird smell and it was not possible to open the window. The bedsheets were a bit warm for the time of the year so i had to sleep without them. The TV had a digital clock which can't be turned off and its light was quite intense since the room was so dark otherwise. That made it a little more difficult for me to sleep. Furthermore, the shower doors don't prevent water from passing under it 100% so it can get quite wet when you finish showering.

Excellent central location with good access to local shops, restaurants, public transport and sightseeing opportunities. Really comfortable beds. Brilliant well presented buffet style breakfasts offering a wide choice and served in a pleasant comfortable breakfast room. Helpful, friendly and efficient reception staff. Polite and thoughtful chambermaid service.

Room was lacking in satisfactory shelving and wardrobe facilities offering little opportunity to unpack and care for clothing. I found this surprising as we had opted to choose a larger double bedroom.

Clean and safe accommodation. Excellent customer service, so kind. Great location - very convenient. Great breakfast - offering a wide range of options and very comfortable dining space. Reception offers complimentary hot drinks for guests. I stayed in one of the smaller rooms and the simplicity proved perfect in the end. Guests are required to request towel changes/bins/room clean during their stay at reception by the morning it is needed but this was explained on arrival and all requests are actioned. Great price. Very pleased with my stay.

You get what you pay for. We booked Svava due to the price and then you cannot expect the best hotel in the city. Breakfast was sufficient and available over a longer time, with fresh fruits and most of the stuff you need for a good breakfast. The room was clean, the staff friendly and the location is perfect! 2 minutes walk from the central station, 3 minutes to the city centre. Great service with an open lunch area with microwave available for use.

The room was really small. An estimated 8-9sqm with 2sqm of bathroom. Hardly any storage for clothes or other stuff available, which was the biggest problem.

The location was great as it is right opposite the train station and you can easilly walk everywhere. The breakfast setup had a wonderful choice with plenty of gluten free options. The staff was very friendly and accommodated us for leaving the luggage in store before check-in and after check-out. The room was warm with a comfy bed, but its not a very large room. We had one large luggage and there was not much space for a second large luggage. All in all great, and I would 100% come back again!

Breakfast was excellent with everything one may want to eat in the morning. The breakfast space was also very nice with a lot of light and plenty of space. The rooms are small and simple but with everything I needed. The bed was comfortable, and there were plenty of TV channels on offer.

A very small point is that sound isolation was not the best. But as I said, I am really struggling to fault this hotel. I do not think anybody will be bothered by noise, but I heard a few bangs around during the evening.

Central location with comfortable facilities. Excellent breakfast. Charming and helpful staff.

The bathroom door needed lubricating. The squeaking noise disturbed sleep. Other guests complained of the same problem in their rooms No air conditioning available in hot weather. Windows were sealed so we borrowed a fan from reception.k The Sky TV channel signal kept breaking. Other channels were fine. To be fair, we did not bother complaining about these issues.

Although the breakfast is good, after 10 years staying at the Hotel (and before the Svava) it is time to change the breakfast, it is boring, the bread uninteresting, the coffee also. Time to change the breakfast.

The lack of TV channels is becoming a problem for me, Sky does not work properly, and the best film channels are closed. Time to change that. Cant be that expensive. Why not take in Danish and Norwegian channels?

Excellent location close to the train station, very friendly staff. Place was clean and tidy, with comfortable beds. They had a couple of Covid measures in place, trying to make it safe for the guests, which I really appreciated (hand disinfectants at several locations, specific slots for breakfast - although it wasn't checked that you are arriving at the time you booked).

Bathroom was a bit small, but completely adequate for a short stay (2 nights). We didn't really like the breakf, although there are a lot of options and people seemed generally satisfied.
