Metropole Swiss Quality Hotel

We stayed in a Deluxe Twin Room with a balcony. The hotel has underground parking for CHF14 per day (there is also outdoor parking, which is charged hourly). The view over the mountains, city and lake was stunning. We were on the 14th floor, with a nice size balcony - but, despite having no other tall buildings nearby, you are not guaranteed privacy, as the paragliders often fly close enough to be able to call greetings to you (close curtains over the glass sliding doors before wandering out of the bathroom after a shower)! The room had a comfortable king bed, a bar fridge, a safe and a TV with international channels. There was a standing floor fan. We requested extra pillows, which were brought to our room quickly and cheerfully. Breakfast was included and offered a large array of foods, hot and cold. It was an easy walk from the hotel into the Unterseen Old Town district, to the East and West stations, or to the funicular up to Harder Kulm. A bus stop is close to the hotel entrance, with buses stopping regularly. There was a wide variety of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel

Despite advertising that the room has coffee/tea making facilities, there was no kettle or coffee maker etc. When I requested one, I was initially told that I had to go to the sauna lounge (?) if I wanted a cup of coffee, then I was allowed to ‘loan’ a kettle (I had to sign that I’d pay CHF40 if it went missing or broke). They provided two cups, but no coffee, milk or sugar sachets etc, which we had to buy from a supermarket. Almost every hotel we stayed at in Switzerland had either a coffee machine or a kettle in our room (sometimes both), so we were surprised and disappointed that we had this kind of issue at a 4-star hotel. The WiFi was slow and inconsistent. There was no air conditioner in the room.

Nice location, breakfast and size of the room. Amazing views of the mountains and town. Was nice to have a bathtub for our daughter to use and lots of storage for luggage. Friendly staff.

We stayed in a room on the 6th floor - carpet and decor needs to be updated to 2022 style.

The bathroom is big, BUT the shower area is too small and on top of bathtub. should’ve renovate and get rid of the bathtub and make glass enclosure for shower

The staff's exceptional service. Every member of your team went above and beyond to ensure that my needs were not only met but exceeded. Their warmth, attentiveness and willingness to assist truly made me feel welcome and valued. The hotel location was simply perfect allowing me to easily explore the surrounding area and take in all that it had to offer. The breath taking view from my balcony was an absolute delight and added an extra layer of charm to my stay.

Location is perfect. Direct view of Jungfrau. Opposite to park where all para gliding activities end. Next door is jungfrau management office. Very close to coop and other grocery stores. Rooms were spacious and clean.

The charging points were short circuiting when I plugged in my phone charger. Rooms were little cold in the night. I put on the heater that they provided in room but it wasn’t effective, turned off after sometime coz of the wind

the location is magnificent with a beautiful view. it is walkable from the interlaken west train station. the rooms are pretty huge with balconies and sleeping couches (for extra accommodation) the staff is very warm. they provide you with a visitor pass which gives you discounts at tourist spots and lets you ride the local bus free of cost.

The view of the hotel is absolutely stunning, Jungfrau is right in front of it and the balcony offers the best view in town. Staff are friendly and they automatically send the luggage to my room even I checked in early. Enjoyed the sauna and the lounge and they are great.

Given its value and the postives I can't think of any negatives, it's not a luxurious, top-star hotel but I give high marks for its overalls.

The location was excellent, in the middle of Interlaken but surrounded by beautiful mountain views all around, The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was plentiful, varied and delicious.

Everything was just right for us at the beginning of our Swiss holiday.

The location was a short walk from Interlaken West station. We had a wonderful view of the mountains and park from our balcony and watched paragliders float into the park. The room was nice and big with plenty of space for two people and luggage. It was so quiet in the evening.

Air conditioning was non existent but we managed with an open door to the balcony and a hand held fan.
