Boutique Hotel Schlüssel seit 1545

Location, proximity to the lake, attractions and the train station are a big plus. The hotel is a cute, historical, boutique hotel, which was renovated in 2019 or so. There are just 2 rooms per floor. The hotel has a small but useful elevator, if you have luggage. The rooms are a little tight but ok if you are not staying for long.

Suggest to retrofit rooms with more power/USB outlets, No room service or evening contact person available if you need anything.

Had an excellent time at this hotel. great value for money (at least at the time when we went in February). breakfast seemed expensive at first, but it was actually cheaper than in most other places in Luzern and the quality of the food was excellent. we had dinner at the restaurant on the ground floor and that was great too (and again great value for money comparing to most restaurants in the city)! room was very clean and quiet and the bed was super comfortable. we slept so well! wifi works super well. I will def be back next time I am in Luzern!

small detail, but it would have been nice to have a boiler with some coffee/tea in the room. I don’t usually look for it, but considering Luzern’s prices, it would have been nice to be able to have coffee in the room!

This is an attractively decorated historic hotel. The location was perfect for us with only about 5 minutes walk to the station. But we also stayed there for the food which has some great ratings in Switzerland. They use fantastic local produce and also have a great wine list. They have 2 restaurants and we ate from both menus. The bed was really comfortable and there is a small lift. The staff were informative and helpful

This is an old building and they have done a great job to make the rooms really comfortable. Hence there is no air conditioning (fan and hydronic heater) and the rooms are small. You can hear some noise from the room next door. I find the down filled pillows difficult to sleep on but they seems common in Switzerland.

Really enjoyed our stay in Lucerne at the Schussel hotel. Great location and large, spacious rooms. Check in was easy and clearly communicated!

There is no AC, so just something to think about when booking. Also had to evacuate the building in the middle of the night due to a fire alarm… all was a false alarm and nothing came of it, but rather frustrating as it was the night before we were scheduled to leave.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with tips and directions around the city. Make sure you have dinner at the restaurant...it is AMAZING. The room was sizeable and very clean. This hotel is close to the train station. We made the mistake of taking a taxi. It's not necessary!

There wasn't air conditioning which is typical for hotels in this area. The windows needed to be open and it was a little noisy at night but can't be helped by the hotel. For a quiet area you will give up convenience of location.

lovely little hotel in a great location - right in the old town next to everything and yet not on the main tourist thoroughfare, loved the little plaza it’s at. great rooms with nice classic design and good space - for the price you pay it’s incredible value. I stayed in the room 302.

not unique to this hotel, but Swiss hotels in general (all four I stayed at) have the same bad pillows - too soft and squishy without enough support. it sure what’s going on in Switzerland with pillows! would also be good to have tea/coffee facilities in the room. one of the two nights I stayed there was noise from the bar downstairs, the window has decent insulation but didn’t dull all noise until people left around midnight.

A very comfortable small hotel in an excellent location in Luzern. Easy walking distance to the station and very close to the Altstadt. Room was a reasonable size with a small bathroom, but comfortable for a short 2-night stay. Very friendly staff who gave us useful local tips.

There was no kettle or drinks making facilities in the room. These are apparently available on demand but we were unaware of this until we were leaving. The hotel is on a church square and the clock strikes every 15 minutes which could disturb light sleepers.

Nice location only a short walk from places like the Chapel Bridge. Very comfortable beds ! It’s actually a self-service check-in which works although we got the messages a day late ! Fortunately there were staff around the help when we arrived.

Breakfast seemed expensive at CHF25 per person so we skipped that. Parking is also across the street in a public car park - fine, but not cheap.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean as well. We also appreciated that there was a fan in the room given that we cannot switch on the air-conditioner (we went in Autumn). - for clarity, it was not hot/warm, we just wanted some ventilation in the room. The room we booked was also generous in size, which we super loved.

Maria and her team.were v friendly, welcoming and helpful. We arrived late and tired and decided to eat at the hotel rather than going exploring other venues - we were very glad that we did as the food was delicious. We also had breakfast at the hotel and it also was delicious. Location was wonderful - in the old town and only a few minutes walk to the Chapel Bridge.

The hotel is a beautiful old building which unfortunately doesn't have air- con. But a fan was provided, and the door to the balcony could be opened.
