Base Vevey

The hotel staff are exceptional they let you feel like you are at home, I would like to thank Mehdi for taking the extra mile in Customer Service from the moment I entered the hotel until the check out. The location of Base Vevey hotel is good 6 minutes walk to the lack and it is near the train station, supermarket, mall and city center, the one bedroom is great for 2 adults and 2 children, there is limited parking in the hotel however public paid parking by mobile application is available outside the hotel. Do not forget to get the free public transportation card from the hotel and it has major discounts on the attractions also.

Everything about the hotel was perfect, i had to arrive out of the check in hours and the staff was so understanding and explained to me that the check in can be done via the tablets provided. The receptionist Gabriela made my stay way better and personalised as she left me a handwritten note to welcome me upon arrival in my room and was very helpful and informative with all my inquiries which was much appreciated. The rooms are fully equipped with everything you need and perfectly spacious for solo travellers.

Rooms were great. Worth requesting a room facing the front on a high floor if you can. Staff were exceptional. Restaurant downstairs was simple but good for dinner. Tv was great and amazing to have English tv channels. Finally !!

Main issue was the drug dealers outside. I rarely feel intimidated but I would not want to be female OR over 60 walking back at night. We avoided being out after dark to avoid this issue. They were so braisen and so obviously wanting me to buy drugs. The bike hire was good, but the bike were uncomfortable racing bikes and I was given a proper map of where I could cycle to. I ended up cycling along a busy main road - this is a missed opportunity.

the room is very clean and functional. we much appreciated having a kitchen and cooking some of our own meals, especially with the price of food in switzerland. grocery store is nearby. all the utensils and tools are there and clean. room is a little small, hard to open window, couch is a little hard. but I think worth it for the price and location. easy walk to the ferry and train station. bed was comfortable and roof deck on the hotel was nice for a glass of wine before we made dinner. easy to stroll to the downtown and lake. you can pay for laundry in the basement.

it was more functional than charming, but that was okay!

Good location within walking distance to the train station.Clean and bright room with comfortable bed and pillows. Staff are very helpful and approachable. The best team we have met in our entire trip. Gave good advice and provide detailed information. There is 2 washing machines and dryers for use at CHF5 per cycle which is good for guests who wish to do their laundry with detergent provided.Room is equpped with a kitchen where one could cook; coffee making with capsule; kettle for boiling water; iron and ironing board and a safe. In the bathroom there is a heater bar to dry small items. Bath gel, shampoo and conditioner are provided.

This room exceeded our expectations! The best hotel we have stayed at in Switzerland. We will stay here in the future, hands down! The room was spacious, clean, modern and we loved the kitchen so much! Nice big picture window on the 5th floor. We felt right at home with a studio apartment! No other words to describe other than this hotel is absolutely perfection! Staff was very helpful and friendly and met all of our needs! Easy access to train station.

It was very clean and well appointed, it met our needs well. Louis was very helpful and efficient. The maid service was superb too.

The air conditioning was not fit for purpose. I always book accommodation with air con but this couldn’t bring our room temperature down in the extreme heat of this last week. This meant our sleep and comfort was significantly affected otherwise I would have given an even higher score.

The sheets were crisp clean, the bed was super comfortable, the air-conditioning is very good, the shower has good pressure. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need or can ever think of. Everything is so clean. The location is close to the train station, supermarket, the lake, very good. The rooms have good natural light from the big windows. The gym is small but the equipment is good.

Everything was perfect for our stay. The rooms are a good size and the bathroom too. The kitchen is fully equipped (even more than some home kitchens)! The room had been cleaned to a very high standard. The hotel is in a great location and we could walk everywhere we needed to go - the train station is just a 5 minute walk away and takes you directly to/from the airport. We had to check in ourself as we arrived very late at night, the process was super easy and quick and only took us a few minutes. The next day we met the hotel staff, 2 girls who were so lovely and welcoming. We will definitely stay here again.

Our stay at Base Vevey was simply amazing! Firstly, the location itself is superb - very central and near to a shopping mall and COOP, where you can get your groceries. The check-in process was quick and efficient, and we were given a room at the highest floor with such great views. Room wise, we liked that it was spacious and the kitchenette was filled with high-quality utensils and crockery. We also asked for the free Montreux Riveria card which granted us free transport everywhere in Vevey and Montreux, and the lady who assisted us (Maria) was super friendly and helpful in addressing our queries. Also, we did our laundry here and it's really affordable - 10 CHF for both washing & drying! After check-out, we were also allowed to place our luggage at the hotel before our train so that we could explore the city a little more. Overall, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND basing yourself at Vevey instead of Montreux if you like a taste of more local living, and definitely stay at Base Vevey if you can.
