Hotel Adler Zürich

I travel a lot to Zurich, about 5 times a year, every year since 2004 and I ALWAYS stay in Adler Hotel, which I ended up calling "My home in Zurich"!.. 😎👍 Convenient location near the main shopping centers, easy access from Zurich Airport, extremely clean rooms, public areas, facilities, comfortable beds and utilities, a great restaurant with fantastic variety of food and pleasant environment, all above topped by the excellent customer service and care from the Manager, the Front Desk, the cook himself, the waiters, the housekeepers and all the rest of the so polite and welcoming smiling personnel, that make my stay always UNFORGETABLE!... Will be back!.. 😎👍🙏👏🏻

Excellent location in the middle of the old part of Zürich. A sense of quality and cleanliness. Useful fridge which can be used for your own food instead of the useless mini-bar offered in many chain hotels. Good beds. There are no cheap hotels in the old part of Zürich but this is probably one of the better options in terms of value for money.

The "Adler" is centraly locted in the Old Town. It is a beautiful cultured place, run by very friendly and attentive proffesionals. Lovely Tessy checked us in on arrival hours too early, was throughout ready with advice and good recomendations and made us very sad to leave.

Pretty little hotel and fantastic location in Old Town. So many shops, restaurants and bars near this hotel and right on the tram line. Loved the being able to have 3 adults in 1 room. Really nice breakfast in the mornings. Room was clean and comfortable. Restaurant dinner was amazing.

Accessibility can be a problem. Had to get heavy suitcases up the entry way steps which were steep. Was a bit of an issue for my mom who has a bad knee. Room also didn't have an accessible shower. Had to step over a high sided tub into the shower. Water pressure was mediocre. Also need to be prepared for the scent of the cheese fondue every day.

Excellent hotel in a very heart of the old town. The receptionists were very friendly and helpful. Proposed us cookies, umbrellas for the rain. The room was warm and cozy, with all needed staff (shampoo, conditioner, lotion, knitting set, etc). Big bath, nice lighting. The restaurant of the hotel was a big, pleasant surprise. Tasty food, big variety of fondue and raclettes, children menu. The waiters were very nice. The buffet for the breakfast at the same restaurant was good: very fresh food, nice variety of sausages, cheeses, salmon, jams, yogurts, fruits and vegetables, etc.

One night there was a big concert in the cafe down the street, so I could not open the window for the night due to noise, but it was not a big disaster for me. It would be nice to have some hot dishes for the breakfast.

Great location in Old Town. Tram #4 takes you to/from train station is only 1 block from hotel. Almost all Old Town sites are within walking distance. Very, very clean property, and the staff is professional and efficient. Breakfast is above average continental type. Bathroom is excellent with good toiletries and nice towels.

Bed linens were good quality, but bed was less than comfortable. I found myself shifting several times during the night because the bed caused pressure points on my shoulders. hips, and knees.

The Hotel Adler was situated ideally in the centre of the old town, where all the restaurants and shops are and near to a beautiful riverside walk with no more than around ten minutes on foot away from Zurich HB train station. My room was always thoroughly cleaned, and the breakfast was the usual buffet breakfast, with plenty of good choices.

I couldn't fault the Hotel Adler, it met everything I wanted for my short stay, a very helpful reception desk, a free computer which meant I could confirm my flight back home to England, and an excellent restaurant at the ground floor, which people queued to eat at in the evening.

Well located hotel in central Old Town with lively cafes and bars close by. Noise not an issue with windows closed. Immaculately clean room with comfortable bed and excellent shower/bath. Well appointed room with amenities. Reception staff friendly and very helpful with usual tourist queries and this was most appreciated. Enjoyed a lovely dinner in the clearly popular restaurant at the hotel and breakfast offered was very good. Bonus to have your choice of complimentary coffee or tea made for you at breakfast. Thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay at Hotel Adler and would highly recommend it to family and friends.

Only minor downside which in all honesty did not significantly impact our stay was the inability to self regulate air con temperature in our room. Found the controlled temperature to be slightly too warm for our preference but not a major issue and did not request change as only staying one night.

This Hotel was a great find! The location of this hotel is fantastic and the staff were exceptional. The Hotel issued located a very short walk to public transport, and also a short distance to the airport. Note they do offer an airport shuttle (additional cost, or they can prebook you a taxi cheaper than the going rate). There is also the cheaper option of Uber available - you just need to walk about 100 metres down the road as Uber isn’t licensed to drive in the precinct. The restaurant too was great. The food was very good, the staff very attentive and the atmosphere on point. Prices were up there, but hey - isn’t everything in Switzerland. The staff - the staff were incredible. I checked out early (6am). Breakfast doesn’t commence until 6.30am, however the staff kindly allowed me to pack a breakfast parcel to take away and were also extremely helpful with my bags.

The price

The location of this hotel is excellent! It is in old town Zurich right next to a bustling area where people are enjoying meals and drinks outside. It is very walkable and in the heart of everything, yet the room itself was incredibly quiet and I did not hear anything when needing to get some rest at night. If you want a great hotel in the center of a cute part of Zurich, this would be it. Located next to fun bars, LGBT friendly area, great restaurants and views of the city. I would definitely stay again.

I did not like having to plug in my information into a computer screen even though a staff member was present at the desk. The room itself was nice, but not many windows. They did a great job with the lighting to help brighten the room.
