Meewaya Hotel

It was a very quaint and comfortable place to stay. The location was good, a small walk up a hill included though so that is something to consider if you have mobility issues. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Air con was a life saver. The pool was lovely, a good size for a smaller property. The staff/owners were so kind and thoughtful, from sharing their watermelon with us on a hot day to giving us a lift to the ferry port when we left. Cannot rate them more highly. Recommend you stay there 100%.

There wasn't much to complain about. However if we had to be picky with something it would be that the place could do with a little TLC. The owner told me how the hotel was shut for 3 years due to covid so take that into consideration when placing judgements on the old box TV sets and a few missing tiles.

Did not have breakfast but the stay was wonderful, a little cozy resort very close to Chaweng main road, easy access to beach and sights nearby. Wonderful staff always ready to assist you at every need. Natty has been exceptionally helpful to make the stay fun and pleasant.

Nothing not too like, the resort has been re-open recently after the brutal 3 years of Covid-19 restrictions so things were still a bit on the renovation side but the rooms are quite large and comfortuable.

Really a lovely vibe in this hotel. Delicious breakfast, comfortable beds, clean rooms, pool in the middle of the place. Owners speak good english so it was fun to chat. They even have books to share and affordable taxi service. 3 restaurants are across the street.

The rooms are big & clean, nice size pool outside and the staff are really welcoming :) Good Location close to Chaweng but the area is nice and quiet at night, about 15 minute walk into the center of Chaweng but the buses pass the hotel all the time. There’s some really nice restaurants opposite the hotel and a 7/11 a short walk away. The beach is about a 5 minute walk and there’s lots of resorts on the beach to grab food too.

We had a lovely stay, we had one of the bigger rooms and it was huge! Room was cleaned to a high standard. Very comfortable bed, we had a separate area with a lounge, TV, fridge, sink and kettle which was great. We also had outdoor seating. The pool was lovely too. Very friendly staff. We hired a scooter and it was 200 baht per day with no deposit! Also booked our onward travel to Koh Tao through the hotel and we had no issues with this as we were picked up on time. To walk down into the main area of Chaweng it was about 15 minutes, so slightly out of everything but only a 4/5 min scooter ride to the centre. There is a 7/11 about a 5 min walk away and there are a few restaurants around that are within closer walking distance. Would recommend!

Lots of mosquitoes around the garden area but obviously nothing the hotel can do with that!

Fabulous 15 night stay at Meewaya! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 The owners, mother and daughter, are lovely and extremely helpful. They offer an airport taxi service and are always there to help. They are genuine, kind people. One of them drove me into central Samui one evening just out of kindness. The hotel is comfortable. I had a very spacious apartment on two levels with good air-conditioning, a fan and a key-locking safe. Sofa and TV area, kitchen area with fridge, kettle and sink. Large bedroom with loads of storage. A nice shower room. My own terrace with a table, 2 chairs, 1 sun lounger and clothes drying rail. The hotel is extremely clean, my room was cleaned and linen changed daily, including fresh bed linen. The pillows were nice too. My room looked out onto a pool area, with sun loungers, surrounded by lovely plants. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the beach. 7-Eleven is a 12 minute walk up and then downhill and you can get to Central Samui shopping centre and market by going the same way. It takes approximately 25 mins to walk or you can grab a taxi from just outside the hotel. I think Meewaya is exceptional value for the price. I’m so glad I spent timing reading all the excellent reviews and chose to stay there. Thank you Meewaya ❤️

Great place that feels a little off the beaten track with friendly staff who spoke great English. It seemed to be owned by a family which I liked, and everyone was very friendly and accomodating. The pool was rather nice and the room was quite good. Air conditioning was good, the shower was nice and the bed comfortable. One of the lovely employees(/owner?) let us rent a kayak for free and go with them to help tidy a nearby beach. We were a bit apprehensive, but enjoyed the morning assisting in making the area a little cleaner. Please pick up your goddamn trash!

-what you get for the price is superb. -comfortable bed -quiet -Nice apartment style accommodation -bikes for rent -close to beach, not too far from central samui -water replaced and accomodation cleaned every day. -cheap transfer service

-poor WiFi -lots of mosquitoes -although mostly quiet, I was kept awake or woken up by neighbours and/or cleaners if they made some noise. -staff weren't unfriendly, but could be friendlier. I like saying hello, good morning, etc -very weak shower and water pressure. -large firm pillows that gave me neck problems

Folks that run the business are fantastic! Truly lovely humans. The rooms are huge and the pool is really nice to use to cool down from the heat of the day. Easy to catch shared pickup trucks to wherever you needed to go. Host can also provide transportation for a reasonable fee to the ferry, airport, etc.

Love that it's out of the chaos of Chaweng, just wish there was a little more around it. Very minimal breakfast options. More open for dinner/lunch. We ended up getting breakfast at a nearby hotel on the beach, but it was quite pricey.

Amazing little apartment for a good price. Had a bedroom, bathroom, sitting area and fridge and kitchen. Nice area to sit round the pool too. It was a Shame we only stayed for one night as it would have been lovely to stay longer. Also offered free coffee etc in their shared kitchen area. Staff friendly and helpful.

Bit of a walk away from main area/beach etc if you don’t have a scooter.
