Stardust Motel Wallace

We were expecting a vintage motel because of the name and it is -- but updated in a way that made it clean, comfortable, and modern while still preserving the unique mid-century decor. Features like the power cube and spa toiletries, flowers and outdoor furniture were personalized touches that made us feel like someone had given a lot of thought and effort to make the whole property inviting -- it was a fun place to stay!

The refrigerator was smaller than most properties provide and the single serve coffee lacked flavor-- though we appreciated that they offered both regular and decaf.

We left before breakfast was served so can't comment there. View from our room was the parking lot but that's the way I remember motels so it just made it more authentic! Very clean room, nicely updated. Nestled into the mountains in a super neat little town, with anything you need within walking distance.

Bathroom window didn't lock & had a radiator sitting underneath it outside making it easy for someone (small) to climb in. Providing a stick to keep the slider window from opening would be nice.

We loved everything about it! The employees were friendly and took time with you. A Thurs. night movie with hammocks, lawn chairs and locals all watching an outside show with kids selling popcorn on the motel lawn. It made this retro motel feel more like a Bed and Breakfast. Also, it was clean with extra little touches in the rooms. Located absolutely perfect in town. We really got a nice feel for the community during our brief visit by staying at the Stardust.

An older motel under new management who are obviously working on improvements and giving it TLC. Super friendly desk clerk, who suggested an eatery where we could eat indoors with our dog (it was hot out). Room was clean, spacious bathroom, ceilings and walls looked like they had new texture coating/paint. Bench outside our door, where we sat with drinks and met other travelers for a rather splendid afternoon. Totally charming experience. Unexpected. You never know with older motels like this. Cool old (“retro”) sign - I hope they keep it, as they continue their remodel work.

Check-in at 4:00, rather than the standard 3:00, and we were told it would cost $50 to check in early. We arrived a little after 3:00 and opted to wait.

Clean, very comfortable beds. Plenty of hot water to shower off after a long and rather muddy day riding the Hiawatha Trail. A friendly corgi and lab greeted me while I was checking in. Very friendly and welcoming. Outside of motel was neat and tidy. Received some very good restaurant recommendations..

Very loud family with screaming kids next to us on Saturday night. Friday evening there was another extremely loud family that stayed up very late with screaming kids running amuk upstairs and through the parking lot. No complaints otherwise.

The woman who checked us in was phenomenal. She thoroughly explained a map of the city to us, gave us tips on best places to eat and where to go for sight-seeing. Although the hotel is older, the room was exceptionally clean. The bedding was high quality and the pillows were comfortable. The shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion was of a spa quality. We enjoyed sitting on the chairs on the grass in front of our door.

The toilet was loose, and too small and low to the ground. It really should be upgraded to a standard size.

It was super cute!! It was beyond our expectations for the price! The staff was very accommodating since we had a late check in and walked us through everything we needed to check in over the phone. They left cute little stickers, discount cards, and a post card for us. The decor is very quirky and fun.

The only thing to mention is their smaller bathroom. Not a huge deal though!

This was a random stay because it was as far as we’d gotten for the night, and we tried so hard to make it a repeat stop on the way back and just couldn’t. This is the place to stop if you’re in Wallace ID. It was comfortable, fresh, vintage and modern, quiet, and had plenty of nice spaces for sitting right outside. We love it!

Can’t fix what ain’t broke.

Location, decor. Desk check in gave a town map and restaurant review. Comfy bed $ pillows. Hammocks & seating outside. Retro ashtrays out side by every room.

Noisy water pipe next to room. Needed second chair. Room was large enough for a recliner to be added. Latched flat surface or stand for luggage.

Clean, comfortable beds, there was a small refridgerator, the sink and vanity were outside of the bathroom so you could do hair and makeup while someone else used the shower or toilet.

The only place to sit was on the beds. Could have used a side chair or a small table and chairs or a desk and chair.
