It was a very clean room and clean area. The looks on the outside can be deceiving but the rooms seem to be totally updated and comfortable.

The room was not carpeted but then again, that is sometimes cleaner than carpet. The bottom of the tub was stained but just stained, not dirty. There was not a breakfast. The TV was pretty small to be viewed by both beds.

Great little place in the middle of nowhere. We were grateful to be able to stop at a clean and comfortable motel on our drive through the back roads. The bed was very comfortable. The room was very clean and spacious. The shower was fantastic.

Not that it was a problem because we left very early to get back out on the road, but there isn't breakfast to get you started.

We were on a 2 1/2 week family road trip across the USA from New York to California. We were staying on US Route 6 from Mansfield, PA to Frisco, CO (lots of traffic lights in Ohio!). The idea was to see the country on a local level, to spend our money on local businesses rather than corporate conglomerates as much as possible, many of which have been challenged more in the past year due to Covid-19. The Shady Rest fit the bill perfectly. We paid a few dollars more for the continental breakfast option, which we knew wasn’t going to be any elaborate made to order eggs benedict kind of thing - I mean, we paid an extra $5 for four of us. I called ahead to let them know we were running a bit late. The proprietor mentioned that he had noticed we paid for the continental breakfast, so before we arrived he went to our room and stocked the mini fridge with the breakfast items: juice bottles, fruit cups, as well as granola bars and pre- packaged pastries. Again, it wasn’t fancy, but it was exactly what we needed to start the day before hitting the road. The extra personal touch was well appreciated! As far as the room and the property; clean, comfortable, peaceful, and a great value! Check in was a breeze, a key code, and we never even saw the lobby. We never met the proprietors in person, but would like them to know they are doing things right! The Shady Rest Motel is the poster child example of small businesses that we like to support. Well done!!

It would have been better if we had a bit more time to explore the small town. I have no doubt that someone there has a story to tell. Everyplace does, if you only slow down and take the time to listen.

Owners were down to earth, genuine and helpful! Facilities are old but the room was clean and comfortable. Great shower!

The heater/air conditioner kept turning on and off every few seconds.

The improvements new owner has redone room no smell in rooms all new bed and bedding room control was comfortable and not loud as before under older management. Everyone staff and employees were super nice. I rent the room for granddaughter and her better half and location was great. Easy to fine too💯👍👍👍👍👍

I love the updated rooms and friendly owners! I love staying here when I go to visit family in Arapahoe. We will stay here again and again for sure!

I wasn’t expecting much. It’s not much to look at in the outside but the rooms were nice— very clean. Loved the shower head and water pressure. Beds were comfortable.

We got in super late. The front desk was extremely helpful and had us all set up. The hotel was one third the price of other hotels.

Owners were extremely accommodating. Room was very clean and spacious.

Wish I had more time to enjoy their distillery.

You’d think at first glance from the road this place is just another marginal road side motel. The room was clean and comfortable. No issues with anything. The owner helpful and professional. I’d stay here again.
