Best Western Plus Ogallala Inn

Ok - this is hands down the best hotel I've stayed at during my cross-country road trip. It's right off the I-80 (so convenient!), parking is free, they allow pets for a low $30 fee (I was traveling with my 2 dogs; they still only charged me $30 total), the rooms are enormous, and the free morning breakfast is to die for! The breakfast selection was seriously top notch - fried eggs, scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, pancakes, waffles, bagels, yogurt, all of the sauces and syrups and spices you could wish for. I met the woman who handles breakfast - I could tell she takes a lot of pride in her job. Shower stalls are also huge - everything looked new. The hallways had a lovely clean smell. And LOTS of green grass outside for my pups. A++.

The only inconvenience was that I left my room in the morning quickly, about 10:30 a.m. before check-out (check-out is at 11 a.m.) to go get some ice from the maker down the hall. When I returned to my room, my key no longer worked. I had to go from Floor 2 down to the lobby and leave my dogs in the room to get my key re-keyed. Other than that, everything was OUTSTANDING. I'll definitely be back.

I was SO surprised how excellent this facility was. In fact, we stayed there on Wednesday on our way to a Colorado vacation and the hotel we stayed at in Colorado was incredibly dumpy compared to this Best Western. We even mentioned we got spoiled that first night and were bound to be disappointed with the other hotel after. In fact, on our return home to Omaha we decided to just stay in Ogallala one more night because we knew how amazing this hotel was. The staff was incredibly friendly and the entire property was so clean. The breakfast was top notch (eggs, sausage, pancake machine and waffle maker.

Convenient and staff was friendly. Guy at front checking us in was helpful after a 600 mile drive.

Price was a lot higher than the past. Maybe 4th of July travel weekend? Demand was there though. Tried staying at quality inn across the way and it was filthy for the same price. You're probably the best place to stay in the area. Would be nice if you had a restaurant/bar/grill, something open extended hours as people arrive, not sure if small town location could support it though.

I enjoyed everything about our visit. We arrived 45 minutes before the pool closed and even though it was empty they didn't even try to close it early. Paul at the front desk even popped in to let us know how much time we had left. I thought that was very nice of him. I was pleased that the room had a black out shade and a normal shade. I have a very hard time sleeping with any type of lights on.

For me personally the only thing that bothered me was the built in night light. If there is a way to turn it off, I couldn't find it. As I mentioned in my likes of the room; I have difficulty sleeping with any type of light being on.

The hotel was new and clean. Staff was very courteous and professional. The room was nice and clean. The hotel is located near gas and stores, which was very convenient. I would definitely stay here again.

Everything exceeded my expectations. The only thing that could possibly be improved was the speed of the elevator. It was a bit slow. There was really nothing to complain about!

First off, I inadvertently booked wrong dates. I called hotel and they were able to correct without incident. I arrived very late and was pleasantly surprised. The place was Very modern, clean and convenient. The staff was super accommodating. I travel with my dog so having a pet friendly hotel is a must. The place is great… the bathroom in the room is so nice. Left early morning and having a nice hot breakfast (eggs coffee, and bagel) as nice. If I ever come around this way, I will definitely stay here again.

Nice clean hotel near the highway and close to gas station and different restaurants and shops. Breakfast is fantastic and the staff is really friendly. Most of the staff speak Spanish. Rooms are large and comfortable. Really quite hotel and very well maintained. It looks really new.

It is a bit far away from the city center.

The staff were very friendly. The facility was very clean, quiet, comfortable, nicely furnished. There were plenty of accessible plug ins for electronics. Bed was comfortable and the thick towels.

Breakfast was ok but I wasn't a big fan of their "fried eggs". There were other options that I should have tried instead.

Loved the comfort of the room. The staff was excellent. And all the facilities from the breakfast to the pool to the gym were absolutely awesome! The overall experience was awesome, just some things that need some rethinking.

The barn door idea looks good but poor design for a bathroom. The bag with the hair dryer in it had some dead bugs (just flies) come out with the hair dryer. Needed more hooks to hang towels and other things on in the bathroom.

Very close to the freeway and the noise kept me up until very late. The shower head was so wide a spray that when I opened up the sliding door to get in the spray really came out onto the floor. Then the water started moving around the corner into the hallway,. a real hazard.
