Best Western Socorro Hotel & Suites

It was a plus to have the coffee & flavored creamers available prior to 6am. My second floor request was honored & the tv and refrigerator were both working. Having a refrigerator that is working properly is important to my race trips in order to keep my fruits & coconut waters cool for race day!

The bathtub had a issue with draining. Once I removed the tub plug the water emptied correctly. There was no paper tv guide for the locals channels. I managed to lose 45-90 seconds of my TV time searching. LOL.

Breakfast was good. Room at the front of the motor inn got some road noise. A couple of minor maintenance issues...loose towel rack, bathroom door catching on tile floor. Staff courteous, including housekeeping.

A couple of minor maintenance issues...loose towel rack (top right mounting screw), bathroom door catching/dragging on the tile floor, commode flushing a bit weak or slow. Some signs on doors had not been updated and did not reflect the hotel's current COVID mask policy. Older or less fit travelers should be made aware there is no elevator for reaching the second floor. Lobby bathrooms were locked.

Checkin was easy. The staff was friendly. The grounds was clean. There was a microwave and fridge in the room. A decent variety of towels. A laundry room available for guests on the grounds(packets of washing detergents is available for sale/you can get quarters from the front desk). There is a McDonald's and Sonic in walking distance. Oh, there is a pool, hot tub and gym on the premises. Free parking. We really enjoyed our stay!

Honestly there wasn't anything that I didn't like. The only thing I would suggest is having a desktop in a more quiet/secluded place instead of in the lobby/reception area. It's to noisy and to many eyes. But I was grateful it was available and I was able to do my online college work(We were visiting from Florida and hurricane Ian had just occurred, however online classes work was still due and I didn't bring my laptop). The staff was very helpful and accommodating. There was a young man with cute colorful hair that made coffee and advised me of such. Lol! I was utilizing the computer for a while(Administrative Law Online class). He was sweet.

When I called and talked to the desk clerk about a week before arriving I told him we needed a room close to the lobby for breakfast because my wife uses a walker and that it would make it a lot easier for her. He put me on hold for a minute to make note of that. When he came back on the phone he said it was taken care of. When we checked in and went to our room , it was about as far from the lobby as you could get possibly get.

Room was fairly spacious, though I didn't spend a lot of time in it. 🙂 Shower was great, though I wish you could adjust the angle of the shower head. I did also manage to leave one of my camera battery chargers in the room when I checked out, but housekeeping found it, so I was able to get it back.

The "elephant" in the room right above me, and the guy running his diesel pickup for 15 min right outside my door at 6am. But that's not the hotel's fault, lol. I also have no idea why my photos are sideways.

Pool awesome, Employees were amazing and very nice, Room was clean, Breakfast was good, Overall was an awesome stay!!! Thank you all!!!

Room kind of small, Bed was too hard, Pillows too flat, Could have more hot meal options for breakfast.

I got a ground floor pet friendly room that was pretty and luxurious including microwave and refrigerator and a hot breakfast I could sit inside and watch tv with in the breakfast room. That was so wonderful after these months of pandemic. Thor left pawmarks all over white duvet covers but they are bleachable and will certainly have to be😱

Everything was nice.

The hotel is conveniently located on the main drag in Socorro, next door to a McDonald's and a Burger King, three traffic lights from The El Camino 24-hour American/Mexican diner. Most of all, it's convenient to the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge, 18 miles south. Room was clean, comfortable and there was plenty of parking. As with many hotels during these Covid Days they offered a Grab and Go breakfast from 7-9 a.m. I was back on the road too early to take advantage of the offering.

The final price with tax was a little on the higher end, but not out of line.

In a wide spot in the road, close to the interstate, my expectations were pretty low, but the BW came through. Only two blocks away was the Jackson Ranch Steakhouse, a gem of a reasonably priced high quality food place.

Excellent location to gas station and restaurants. Rooms on the small side but very clean and well maintained. The shower and bathroom facilities worked great. Nice motel. Would stay here again.

The Lady at the front desk seemed to be a little sour. After all day on the road it would be nice to be greeted by a friendly person. But understandable having to deal with the public in the age of the virus.
