Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Minot

The hotel is clean, The breakfast was good, with lots of variety. We were surprised by how quiet it was while sleeping even though the hotel,is located across the street from Walmart!

We had trouble with getting the key to work. Finally had the nicest maintenance man help us get into the room after returning to the front desk a couple,of times. Never have we stayed at a hotel that you have to pull the door handle “upwards” in order to open the door! Also, we didn’t realize check in was at 3:00pm and we arrived an hour early. The front desk receptionist made us feel like we were committing a crime…she wasn’t very friendly. Never before have we never been able to check in before the “time”

The included breakfast had many hot and cold choices, more than the average continental in other hotels. The suite was spacious, elegant, had every comfort for a night or extended stay, including dishes, coffee pot, full sized fridge, a very comfortable bed, and even Dove soap and hair products!

The small pillows weren’t that comfortable and didn’t seem in keeping with the clean smelling bedding. Also the only disturbance was what appeared to be staff children wandering in the way in the breakfast room, playing with the trash can, making a racket, helping themselves to food, generally running around.

The price of the room is very reasonable! The full kitchen with microwave and full size fridge, basic utensils, plates, coffee pot etc was wonderful! The amount of pillows on the beds was great. Beds were comfortable and clean. Also, I don't recall hearing a lot of other guest noise at night or during the day for that matter. The room had lots of open space and did not feel closed in.

I would have liked to have a second mirror in the main room to aid in all of us getting ready at the same time. Would have liked heavier curtains that close to darken the room better at night or provide more privacy when all of us trying to get ready to leave for activities. Would have liked coffee available in the lobby area throughout the day. But we survived our stay and these things were minor.

The staff was friendly and made us feel welcome on arrival. Room was spacious and clean. Morning breakfast bar was the usual fare and we appreciated the hot protein items (eggs, sausages) The pool and hot tub looked nice, although we did not use them.

The small square pillows were not our favorite. They were still comfortable, though.

The staff was very professional and they made sure the hotel was clean and presentable. Everyone said good morning and they were always approachable.

Both our rooms smelt like sewer when we first got into the room, I assumed that it was a dry trap as we turned on the shower and fan, and the smell went away. Glad there was a fan to move some air.

Room was clean but very small pillows. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was good and had lots of choices.

Cost of room was excessive even before US exchange rate was factored in.

Excellent stay! The room was very spacious, kitchenette perfectly equipped for our needs, AC was nice and cold, and shower was lovely. The beds were super comfortable as well, plus the desk/work area was huge, which was really great. Everything was super clean. Tip for those using the kitchenette: you need to turn on the timer on the wall to activate the stove burners (it took us a bit to figure this out, no signs to inform about it). Also to note: breakfast items were individually wrapped, very appreciated!

Was disappointed that masks were not required here in public areas despite indication for such on the property description. There is only one elevator that goes to the 4th floor (where our room was), which is not an ideal design.

Everything was fine except the bathtub

The bathtub in serious need of safety bars around the bathtub. Very difficult to get in and so sloppy it was really hard to get out.,it’s a situation where a serious accident will happen if it already has not already

The room was clean and I had change dates of booking they were very flexible.

Asked for extra blanket on bed we only had one think blanket on bed. Bo comforter and they said they had none.

Everything!! The staff were amazing and the accommodations were once again, clean, comfortable, and quiet. We stayed here over Christmas and New Years and really were impressed so we stayed again on this trip.

That I had to leave so soon. We really enjoyed the room, staff and everything else about the Hawthorne Suites, and I know I am supposed to be writing what we didn't like, but there is not anything we did not like.
