Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites McAlester, an IHG Hotel

it was clean and well maintained. Concur with other reviews, the breakfast was very good (except for Sunday). Those reviews were one reason we chose this hotel. FRIDAY & SATURDAY (11-12 Nov 22): breakfasts were wonderful both Friday and Saturday. Biscuits cooked perfectly, plenty of food available and hot. Food was available and hot the entire time breakfast was scheduled to be served. SUNDAY (13 Nov 22): not a good breakfast experience.

SUNDAY (13 Nov 22) breakfast not good! The night before, the desk clerk said breakfast would be served until 10am. At 9:50am, the pancake machine and warmers had already been turned off. Could not get pancakes and other food was no longer hot or was already gone. Orange juice was watered down, like it was running out. The woman working the breakfast area did ask if there was something I wanted. She then left and never came back. If breakfast is actually NOT being served until 10am, then advertised the correct time! Breakfast should be available when you say it will be.

The breakfast was excellent and the young man overseeing it did a fabulous job! We also loved having the Dove products in the shower. The room was very clean when we arrived and we were provided everything we needed on daily basis.

We arrived at 2:30 with check in time being 3:00. We were told that check in was not until 3:00 and she had not heard from housekeeping yet on whether there were any rooms ready. I found it odd that housekeeping would wait until 3:00 to let them know when rooms were ready and that she couldn't call housekeeping and ask. We have never had an issue checking in 30 minutes early to any other hotel. Everything else was great!

The hot breakfast was very good. I only stayed overnight, but was very pleased with the room and amenities available in it. Staff was super. Room was clean, bed quite comfortable.

I didn't like that I had to all the hotel directly before my trip to confirm my reservation. If I had not done this, it would have been difficult to find it because the Booking.com website keeps putting incorrect letters before my last name when making the reservations. This is the 3rd time this has happened. The first cost me an exorbitant amount of money trying to find a room on the spur of the moment on a weekend where rooms were scarce and extremely expensive in the town I was visiting. The original hotel did eventually find my reservation, but I had already had to book at a hotel that was 2/3 more expensive than my original hotel. Not happy with Booking.com and this being the 3rd strike, you're out!

This was a wonderful property! Staff was wonderful and very accommodating! Facilities were nice and clean and so very inviting. Breakfast was not your usual continental, it was a full HOT breakfast that didn’t taste like it had been sitting forever. Can’t say enough about this property. I chose it at random and so glad I did. I’m sad I didn’t think to take photos.

Breakfast was great, morning staff was AMAZING! We had a 2 room suite, it was very clean, and comfortable!

I don’t like the hotel pool out of view of office, lots of town ppl come in to use at their leisure! Night office girl could care less. Construction is still going off 1 year later, it doesn’t bother us but I heard multiple ppl in the hall comment it’s an eye sore!

Great location. Spacious room with plenty of outlets/USB outlets.

Good breakfast but area was crowded and blocked entrance to elevators and desk. Staff for checking in and out was sparse - very polite and helpful but seemed understaffed. Other staff was present but unable to assist.

I liked the breakfast, because of covet the set up was different.

The staff could not find my booking because the Booking employee typed my name in wrong, which made me have to call Booking.com who never answered after being on the phone for over 25 minutes. Finally, because a employee kept looking, then ask me to look at what was typed in to see if it was my booking I finally got my room. I had a wedding to get ready for Booking caused me a 30 minute delay. In the future Booking should put the hotels confirmation number on the booking receipt or send it to the person booking the hotel. If this had happened to me overseas it would have been disasterous! Major construction in this area.

The room was exceptionally clean, spacious, and comfortable. The breakfast was one of the best we've ever had. It was especially nice to be able to walk to a variety of restaurants for dinner, too.

We wish that there would have been a BIG announcement as we were booking that the pool would not be available for our dates.

The shower turn on knob came off (missing the screw that would hold it in place), toilet needed to be fixed to the ground. was off kilter and when you used it, it would move.

Our stay was typical of that of other Holiday Inn Expresses we've stayed in, eg the breakfast was hot and good. The hotel seemed to be well maintained and clean although there appeared to be some remodeling being done but which did not interfere with nor interrupt our stay at all.

Parking was a little tricky due to the layout of the property, but it was never an issue trying to find a parking spot.
