Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Sweetwater

The ladies were fabulous! Water got turned off to hotel and we had clothes in washer but had to leave, the lady at the front desk finished our laundry and placed it in our room. They were all so sweet.

Pool was closed for a whole day for maintenance and cleaning, pool was not cleaned, same cricket in pool as the day before. Pool had movable dirt on pool bottom and steps. Our shower water pressure was terrible, and we unclogged shower drain which was massively full of hair.

If ALL microtel hotels were like this one, I’d never stay anywhere else! This is the best overnight stay I’ve ever booked! The facilities were spotless, the water pressure in the shower was heaven. I requested during booking that the AC be turned on to cool down the room, to my surprise IT WAS! The front desk was so friendly, jovial, and helpful. I do know from experience, having booked Microtel in Gallup NM, that this facility is the exception. The bed was comfortable. My hat is off to the management and staff in Sweetwater Texas!

There was not one thing in this facility that disappoints. Beds are so comfy, room was cool, Wi-Fi works great, breakfast was great, everything was great.

The breakfast buffet was great. Different item on different days. Real Yoghurt (not just the ones with the artificial sweetener crap), fruit, juices, waffles, bacon, premade omelets, biscuits, gravy, cereal, toast french toast, danishes, mini muffins.... and fresh cookies in the afternoon. Loved it!

The soda machine would not take my dollar bills, so I had to pay with credit card, which added 0.10 surcharge.

Location. Easy access. Decent price when our original plan was Abilene which was all booked from fair, rodeo, and medical/COVID workers and ridiculous rates. Nice size qq room. 2chairs! I hate sitting on beds. Met requirements of light and great shower. Adequate typical breakfast. We’re just tired of them after such a long trip. Small seating area but well spaced tables we appreciated as we are still being very careful about personal space. At check in we asked about a place for bbq as we were driving straight through Texas. Bucks was recommended. So glad we went. Quite the experience doing the ‘line’ as kitchen was behind on orders. At checkout I mentioned 2 items that needed attention. Graciously acknowledged.

Little Counter Space in bathroom was a negative. Room for toothbrushes etc. Shelves over toilet were narrow. One of my criteria for rating a room.

We always have a great stay at this property. Staff is friendly and professional, rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and best of all, our beloved dog is welcome.

It's a pretty small thing and not even a complaint. The bathroom vanity is pretty cramped for two people, but again, for the money that's a really, really small thing.

the hotel and our room was very clean. The breakfast was great. the price for the room was a bargain. Loved the added touch of having the remote in a plastic bag and was sanitized.

the shower drain was very slow and was ankle deep in water. The sheets felt a bit rough and made me itchy.

Hotel appears fairly new and was exceptionally clean everywhere. Breakfast on Saturday was okay but would have been better if hot. Eggs were cold. We stayed on 3rd floor facing the rear and could watch the semis come and go. I thought the noise would be a problem but I barely heard any noise from the outside. Bed was comfortable. Plenty of towels and coffee. Free water and cookies at checkin.

It was clean and a great room overall. The staff was very nice and welcoming.

The bed and pillows were not comfortable. My back hurts from sleeping on it. The breakfast bacon and eggs is disappointing.

Texas had suffered a severe Winter Storm before our trip. Since I have never been to South Padre Island before, I thought the natural environment deteriorated buildings. The places we stayed at before your hotel had broken tiles, bugs, leaks, and crumbling cocking. The Microtel was clean, restful and excellent customer service!!!!

We had trouble finding the hotel because we were exhausted, Google Maps gave us terrible directions, and it was away from the main strip of other hotels.

Very clean and comfortable. Great breakfast and shower.

The cable TV in our room wasn't working. Staff did try to fix it but it still didn't work. We were only staying overnight so it wasn't a big deal.
