The apartment was spacious and clean. Completely stocked with full kitchen. The location was perfect off the main road and right next to SxS trails. Met an amazing local Leo, at Time out Cafe. Best break around. Huge portions and reasonable prices. He was so nice and told us the best places to visit. Would recommend to anyone looking for extra space - to ask for the apartments.

The description was a little vague on the listing. The space is a fully furnished apartment. Which was awesome. 😊 Had we known, we would have packed food instead of eating out.(no big deal) The bathroom tub had a slow drain while showering we were standing in water. Neither were that big of a deal for us. Would totally stay here again.

We love the location, the simplicity, cleanliness and friendliness of all staff. We stayed in one of the Chequamegon suites, very nice. THE ENTIRE STAFF WAS OUTSTANDING! THAT IS HUGELY IMPORTANT IN MY OPINION!

The only thing would be total bldg. air conditioning. I just don't like the whirr of fans, there were 3 different AC units in our suite. So to pay $225 with the inconvenience of the AC noise, lessens the value of the property.

The Inn is in a lovely location. It sits on the shore of Lake Superior, it’s next to a marina and very close to town. The inn has plenty of Adirondack Chairs for its guests to sit and enjoy the lovely views. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The town of Washburn is quaint, unfortunately for us we were there on an off day and didn’t get to enjoy the shops. We did have a great meal at The Snug. We happened to arrive there on a live music night and the band was great too. I’d definitely go back to the Inn and The Snug !

Washburn Inn is a nice older hotel without a pool or hot tub (fyi). Linens are soft, beds/pillows are very comfortable, bathroom was clean and typical for the era, staff were friendly, area is safe. Unfortunately no rooms face the marina/water, not an option at the time it was built. There is a walking path and an expansive grassy area, boardwalk and chairs that face the marina - it's a pretty view and quiet area. We came to sight-see, this is a perfect low-cost hotel for that purpose. Highly recommend if you need clean, safe accommodations.

Would have liked a view of the water & possibly a pool if we planned to spend time in the hotel. Not a big deal since we came to the area to sights-see, no time to swim anyway.

The room and beds were fairly comfortable. The staff was very helpful and it was located right on the marina at the bay on Superior Lake. It was close to local restaurants and the Time Out restaurant offered outstanding breakfasts. It was only a fifteen minute drive to Bayfield where we took a boat tour of the Apostle Islands (highly recommend the tour).

There wasn't an easy chair in the room even though there was plenty of space for one. The only chair was a padded dining room chair. The staff did bring us an extra chair - one night another padded dining room chair and the next a plastic kitchen chair. We were in Washburn over a weekend in June, and during that time of year a lot of places only operated Wednesday-Sunday and with limited hours, some shutting down at 4:30 p.m. Some places were not open at all. We drove to Bayfield for dinner Sunday evening because the only restaurant open was a bar and grill where we had already eaten once.

I was very impressed with the kindness of the front desk staff. For being an older hotel, everything was clean and comfortable. With it being a busy holiday weekend I was still able to check in early. It is close to Bayfield, which was my main point of destination. There is a nice marina with tons of lawn chairs to sit and relax at night. There is also a nice waking path along the shoreline. Would definitely stay again.

There was NO breakfast, only coffee. Coffee was good, service exceptional. Time Out restaurant nearby was EXCELLENT, recommended by the hotel.

There could have been at the very least (for the price we paid per night) a "grab and go" breakfast, i.e. bagels, sweet rolls, muffins, yogurt, cold cereal, and juice & coffee. We've been on the road since 5/18, it's now 5/30, and EVERY hotel / motel we've stayed at has at a minimum had a "grab and go" available for their guests, and so far NONE has been as costly as The Washburn Inn! We LOVED the Lake Superior scenery and what we saw, BUT it was not worth the cost of our lodging!!

The property was well situated overlooking the lake, with open fields adjacent, and a historic walk nearby. Perfect for our pup to run and play, and for us to wind down. The room was spacious, very quiet, comfortable, and most importantly, very clean. Plenty of parking. Hot coffee in the morning. A terrific greeting at the front desk from Rick. In all, it was not fancy, and had a few small flaws.....Pillows could have been softer. A/C could have been quieter. That said, it was precisely what we needed for a two night stay. Close to many sights and the Bayfield draw. We will def go back. Hands down, couldn’t have chosen a better place for our needs and for traveling with a pup. It met nearly every criteria for this trip. So we opted to give it an top rating in spite of not being a “luxury or full-service” hotel.

Sadly, the prices are pretty steep during high season in Bayfield area.

Heating and air conditioning contribute to climate change, because there are so many homes and businesses. When i walked into our room the air conditioning was running. It was actually rainy and damp outside which did not warrant running the air conditioner. I would suggest that nothing should be running in the inn until the guest arrives. Unless it is winter, then I would think the heat should be on. A good rule of thumb is to set the thermostat at 68 F. in the winter and 78 F. in the summer. Thank you for listening. It will save the hotel money as well. Climate change is a crisis!

The online pictures don't do this little gem justice. Our room--2 queen beds--was spacious and oh so clean!! The property flanks a marina, which while most of the rooms don't have a view of the water, the boats are just a pleasant walk away. And, speaking of walks, there's an awesome waterfront trail running from the hotel, along the lake, to a campground. It's full of footbridges and willow trees. I saw a fox and sat on a cushy carpet of moss in a secluded spot next to the lake. It's very Alice-in-Wonderlandish! And the main street of this quaint littel town is just 3 blocks away. I recommend the chipotle, pico de gallo burger with jalapenos at Patsy's. WOW!

The pillows aren't very comfortable and I missed breakfast. I think the latter is a COVID thing, but darn I would've loved a little something. I did walk up town, but nothing opened before 6:30 a.m.--even the supermarket was still closed at 6 a.m. So, for all you early birds...I recommend hanging out at Patsy's or another pub just a little longer the night before. There's no need to wake up early.
