Vela Phu Quoc Resort

The staff have been super friendly. The room was large and clean. The proximity to the narrow beach was also great. Beautiful sunsets. There are some restaurants nearby with delicious food.

The room could use some cosmetic touches. The beach was mostly clean but is very narrow and unfortunately has hardly any shady spots. The breakfast was sparse. Sometimes tour groups are accommodated here and they were already very noisy at 6am and in the pool. No one seemed to care that this noise woke everyone up in the morning.

I had a great time at the Vela Phu Quoc Resort. When they noticed I was travelling alone they upgrade me from a room with two single beds to a bungalow with a king size bed. Although the bungalow was not new it was very clean and had a comfortable bed. There were free amenities like coffee, tea and water refilled daily. Also the towels were fresh and refilled every day and I was allowed to take them to the beach which is just a two minute walk from the resort. The host Yen was a great help with everything like booking (cheaper) tickets, reserving tables, booking tours and taxis, just to mention a few examples. I can absolutely recommend to stay at the resort.

I liked the location. It's quiet but also close to the beach and to shops and restaurants. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The receptionist speaks English and always remembers to greet you by name. I had breakfast included. The food is made for you by ordering from a menu. You get given a blue slip where you write down the numbers from the menu for the food you want , your room number and table number. They then bring the food to you. The first day I ordered what would be considered as an English breakfast. The food was cooked well, especially the scrambled eggs On the second day I ordered all the Vietnamese dishes. They were really tasty. For myself I preferred the Vietnamese food over the English breakfast style, (although I still ordered the scrambled eggs and the pancakes because they are so tasty) I have a disability which limited where I could stay. The receptionist accommodated my request for a more compatible room

I had to pay extra to get a room that better suited my needs. However, I did not request in advance for accommodation of my needs. I have found it is easier to book a room for two people so that I would get a large bed to myself as my disability affects how I can move and so i need the extra space of a double or king. As I was a single person I was initially given a room with single beds. This assumption that because I am single it's ok to put me in a single bed is a very limited way of thinking.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The resort has a beautiful garden as well as a pool and is located only 2 minutes walking from the beautiful Ong Lang Beach where you can see the most stunning sunsets. The room was big and very clean and there is daily room service. It provides you with all you need. My partner and I are following a vegan diet and got always a delicious breakfast meal, that was prepared only for us but was still included in the free breakfast. We felt very much seen and were so thankful. Furthermore the food was very delicious and always freshly prepared. We would always come back here!

The breakfast was not good. The hotel is a bit outdated and the rooms could use to be soundproofed. You can hear everything outside.

Breakfast was fine , good limited options , location perfect for area ,, this part of island is quite , but outside hotel restaurants. Beach little walk from hotel . I hired moped to get around as only form of transport outside taxi , but ta I cheap ,, overal , excellent choice for area ,, unless pay substantially more money this hotel ticks all the boxes

Receptionist was very helpful regarding activities places to go, and the value for the money. She speaks very good English. Breakfast was good and they adjusted it depending on wants. Very clean and maintained. They are in the process of redoing some rooms but the noise was minimal. Pool refreshing and shade available.

Very nice place in good location close to the beache. Most important was the staff, especially the lady from the reception. Best person we met in Vietnam. Very helpful people work there and the breakfast was very good and a lot. Swimming pool was good. For this price absolute must!
