The Lucky Hotel

We have stayed at the Lucky Hotel before & it was great. Our visit this time was just as good, we even got given a couple of complementary Drink Vouchers - which was a wonderful surprise. Our room had a balcony (a great choice) & was very clean & comfortable - not to mention cute & quirky. The location was central, however we didn't get to explore the area as it was raining the day we arrived - we ended up just hanging out in the bar & having a couple of drinks & yummy meal.

There was nothing not to like. We were even lucky enough to score a car park in the side street out the front!

The room itself was perfect for a two-night stay. I really liked how close it was to everything and the accessibility of the hotel itself. The lady at the front desk was super friendly and was happy to help with any questions. I also enjoyed the restaurant/pub below. It had a really nice atmosphere and the food was really good. Would definitely recommend!!!

When we entered the room there was a funny musky smell which wasn’t too nice. However we got over it pretty quickly as everything else was nice. The only other thing was that one of the lights didn’t work. Again, this didn’t bother us too much.

Great little boutique hotel, excellent location, great facilities, felt very safe in the heart of the city and had lots of cafes, cool shops and historic buddings around to enjoy walking past. Highly recommend a stay here.

Only negative was I had a door to an adjoining room (not used by me but perfect for families) and I could hear the other occupants. I resolved this by turning on the TV to block out their conversation. Next time I'll make sure to book a room that does not have an adjoining room with a non-sound proofed, locked door in between.

The room was a good size & the bed was super comfy. The bathroom (& bathroom supplies) & shower were amazing (shower was hot & instantaneous). The location was fantastic - everything we needed was within walking distance. The staff were very friendly & helpful on check in which was very well received.

The street parking was a bit tricky & as it was a Saturday night the music/band were loud. The room was pretty insulated though. The other hotel guests walking up & down the stairs & the hallway were not unfortunately :(

This hotel is well situated, by the water and with enough coffee shops, and small restaurants nearby. The tram stops right outside the hotel and it services the city and beaches. The hotel is an interesting renovation so the room was well fitted and pleasant. The bars and restaurant are on the ground floor. We had a casual meal there - it was pub food. We were warned about music that night (it was St Patrick's Day!) but were not disturbed by loud music at all.

Perhaps the food but the restaurant catered for a large crowd and we could have eaten nearby - enough choices.

Location is super convenient across the road from the tram stop, bar and restaurant onsite (excl. breakfast). I like the unique interior decoration and the attention to detail a lot - it’s colourful and beachy with a historical and artistic edge.

If you stay in an internal room facing the courtyard you may feel a little claustrophobic, as I don’t recall being able to open those windows and it was quite dark (but moody!). The balcony and external rooms are more light-filled, fresh and pleasant.

Loved the ambient space. The decor was great. The location was central. The building had history so it was great to read about it. The photos on the walls were like a visit to an exhibition. Very well fone. The room was whisper quiet. We'd travelled 10 hours so when we arrived, all we needed was here... food, drinks and a long evening walk around town We did have a noisy refrigerator in our room. We mentioned this as we were checking out, and the lovely person at the desk really listened to us, and promptly instituted a "sorry" gesture ( totally unexpected) We were most grateful.

Initially, it was the absence of secure parking, but we did get a spot in the street right opposite the hotel, and it was free, and relatively safe. We also had a noisy refrigerator in our room. See above.

Central location, close to bars and restaurants. The bar/restaurant below the hotel is also excellent - nice decor and food and drinks. We opted for a terrace bedroom as had read the rooms looking into the courtyard were noisy over the weekend. We didn't experience noise at all. Our room had a large terrace which was nice for fresh air and an evening beer before heading out for dinner! Would stay here again

The room was quite small, however large enough for two people. There was a small rail and hangers for clothes. The window did not open so we only had fresh air on the terrace. However the air conditioning worked well.

Wonderful Hotel and Bar/restaurant downstairs. This place was a perfect stay for a over night stop over. Rooms were lovely and clean, room and shower has obviously been renovated. The decor upstairs in hallways was such a great read and stroll. Linen was lovely and comfy. The Bar and restaurant downstairs was amazing, great staff, food and atmosphere was 10/10. If not staying here, I would at least visit the pub underneath, it is decorated amazingly.

Nothing, I would stay here again.

The building was so quirky. So much detail in how the common areas were decorated / furnished. So much to look at. The rooms were not big, but very comfortable and the bathrooms were modern and clean. And it’s very central, we could walk everywhere we wanted to go. We had lunch and dinner in the courtyard restaurant. Photos of courtyard from our room attached.

A minor thing that affected us, but would not be an issue for most people. My husband needs a bedside table for his cpap machine - and in the rooms we stayed in there was only room for 1 bedside table and it wasn’t on ‘his’ side. We worked out a solution in the end 🤔 😉
