Heron's Landing Hotel

This property is located across the road from the ocean and our room had a nice view. Our room was clean and fresh when we checked in. This is an older property but appears well maintained. The bed was comfortable and we liked the full kitchen. This unit was set up like a spacious one bedroom apartment. The breakfast room is nice and the food was good. We used the free parking in a secure parking garage. There is also outdoor parking out front.

The check in was a bit haphazard. The fellow couldn't find our booking at first and we weren't advised of the elevator at the other end of the building so we carried our luggage, coolers etc up a few flights of stairs. Not a big drama but completely unnecessary.

Room was alright, from the little balcony there was also some seaview. Unexpected, the hotel offered complimentary breakfast which was standard OK.

Unfortunately the room was warm and no A/C's but a standalone fan was provided. Checking in was a little weird, since there was no-one present, but we had to do it by the phone which was placed on the counter. But it worked anyway. Be aware that the hotel is positioned on a through road, so when sleeping with the window/balcony door open, you will be woken up with cars in the morning.

Our suite was an apartment with a side view of the sea from the balcony. The place was well furnished, having a full kitchen, and very clean. Lots of undercover parking and they even provided complimentary muffins, cereal bars, fruit and coffee in reception at breakfast time. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is a few minutes drive out of town, but that’s not a real issue since there is a restaurant with a good range of beers next door.

My room was spacious and comfortable (king sized bed) and quiet. The location was convenient -- it was a rainy, blustery night and there is a restaurant just a couple of minutes walk down the road. Though there was no breakfast, coffee, muffins and fruit were available in the lobby. Apparently the breakfast room will re-open in a couple of weeks. The two staff members I dealt with were friendly and helpful. And my stay was very good value for money.

hammering began at 7 am from the neighbouring property - not something the hotel can control. This was my second stay here, this room was not set up as well as the first stay, no night light and bathroom set-up was not as nicely done. Not a huge problem, but consistency is appreciated.

The suite was very spacious, well appointed, and reasonably quiet.

The pillows were too firm. It would have been nice to have a second TV in the bedroom. The breakfast snacks weren't available till the desk clerk arrived around 9. I'm an early riser so I would have liked it by 7am at the latest.

Nice location across the street from beach. Walking distance to really nice restaurant, quick drive to other waterfront restaurant and shopping. Loved the private, gated parking on ground level. Everyone was very helpful and nice. Convenient laundry facility on ground floor level.

The location, Front desk staff very friendly and helpful, balcony with a view of the ocean, the breakfast, secure parking garage, the quaintness of the hotel. The local products they supplied as well as the makeup remover cloths. The cleanliness of the room and the rest of the hotel.

My pillow was too big.

The underground parking very nice, touch bedside lamps with outlets built in them are very convenient and breakfast was great

A little older but very pleasant. Strong deodorizer smell when we first checked in. Smell seemed to dissipate later. The bed was comfortable but shook when my partner turned over.

View over Discover Channel to Quadra Island from the wrap-around balcony (rm 114), convenient location, friendly and welcoming staff.

The furniture, fittings and decor could do with a refresh, which would have enhanced my rating.
