Comfort Inn & Suites Merritt

Staff was great. Beds were comfortable. Air conditioning worked very well.

Pool area was dirty and needed attention. Several children in the hot tub just before it closed and it was very noisy and not relaxing for adults. There were people drinking alcohol and eating in the hot tub and pool area and their kids were running wild. Bags of chips scattered on the floor. Hot tub wasn't nearly hot enough.

Location close to highway, so perfect for a stopover. Some restaurants in the vicinity. Room was comfortable, free parking and wifi available. Breakfast was included and was good, however only available until 9am. So no time to sleep in if you want to make it in time for breakfast 😉.

Nothing major really. Window couldn't be opened in our room, but if it were possible, there would probably be too much street noise from passing cars.

multiple stink bugs in our bathroom when we arrived which we had to remove breakfast was average at best, also staff told us it ended at 9 and they were still open when we left around 10:30 which was frustrating by the side of a motorway so not the nicest area (but we expected this) expensive for what it was

Because of Covid there was no breakfast as would normally be provided however the bagged breakfast that was available was very well done. The location of the hotel is very well placed being only a short distance from Highway 1 and the Coquihalla Highway.

When booking we indicated that we would be travelling with our small dog as we had at all of our other stays while we travelled across western Canada. Imagine our surprise upon check in when we were told that there was an additional $50 charge for the dog. During all of our travels we have never experienced this significant additional charge. The other troubling fact was that this additional charge was never communicated to us until check in.

Location was great, right off the highway but not noisy. Pool was good. If there was any sound in the hallway you could hear it. With a baby trying to sleep that wasn’t ideal. The breakfast could use some work. The eggs were not edible they were mealy and had a bad taste.

We stayed at this hotel as an emergency based stay. We were stranded as the hwys all closed due to mudslides etc. We had 2 of our children with us, so they loved every aspect of the hotel. We had a king size room that nicely accommodated all 4 of us. The kids favorite part was the pool and fair sized hot tub. The staff were super friendly and patient even as we checked out and their town (Merritt) was under evacuation order due to major flooding.

Ducked into Merritt during a thunderstorm on our motorbike. I was quite stressed but the room was great to relax in and we watched the storm from our large windows. Was very much needed after travelling for four days and am grateful we snagged the very last room in the hotel.

Checkin went quickly = well organized. Easy to access. Front desk person was very kind & informative. The bed was excellent. The room was clean. Very good coffee both in the room and available in the lobby.

The cleaning product smell was overpowering in the room. Turned on the fan to recycle the air. Recommend less smelly cleaning products. Everything else was excellent.

I like the fact that you don't necessarily need a credit card, there is a way for people to still be accomodated with a deposit that's a huge thing for a lot of people that can't access a credit card.

Breakfast had all the basics - cereals, yogurt, fruit, toast, waffle machine, etc. Massive tv in room. Clean. Comfy beds. Quiet and good location
