Residence Inn by Marriott Halifax Downtown

The staff were very friendly and accommodating in the morning. I saw them refilling the hot food often. They were always in the dining area picking up dirty dishes and wiping down tables. I was there on a long weekend in the summer and it was busy. The reception personnel welcomed you when you entered and were always at the reception desk. I felt safe and secure in this facility. I would stay at this hotel again.

The kitchens were well equipped but as I am a tea drinker and not coffee having a kettle in the room rather than having to have one brought to my room would be better.

The Residence Inn is in a perfect location to see the sights of Downtown Halifax. The rooms/suites are large and comfortable and we appreciated the separate sitting area and sofa bed. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. All in all though, a pleasant stay. Thank you.

The only downside was the cost of the carpark ($30 inc tax for 1 night) and the breakfast was poor. Given that we participated in breakfast at 6.30am we might have expected the hot food to be "hot" It wasn't even warm!

Residence in by Marriott is not hotel, it is home.Fantastic ambient that makes you feel so relaxed. Amazing staff that is always ready to help with everything and more. This is the only one hotel in Halifax that serves breakfast what is a big plus. Breakfast is very rich and versatile buffet style and staff very helpful end pleasant. Hotel is new, very, very tastefully and thoughtfuly done. We love it.

The halls and breakfast area were very warm- I’m not sure if that’s normal but it was uncomfortable. The beds were comfortable but the pillows were not. Very noisy at night but that is not your fault, someone was shot outside my sons room on Argyle St ( my grandson was with them) again- not your fault but definitely impacts the entire area Overall enjoyed my stay

So nice to have a hot and free breakfast. The room was spacious . Great shower and everything you needed. Will go there again .

Wanted a room with a good view of the harbour but got something that was still very good with a partial view. Loved the deck but it really needs an upgrade with some nice furniture. It would end up being the busiest spot in the hotel.

The room was beautiful, they were amazing at making sure everything was setup for perfection. Shampoo conditioner portions and even 2 bars of high quality Paul Mitchell soap that smelled amazing. The shower had tons of space and good water pressure with 3 settings for getting super clean before a date. The iron and board were a good touch but I didn’t use them. I would highly highly recommend this stay to anyone looking for a palace of a room and amazing service, I haven’t cried about a room before until I stayed there. It was better than perfect.

Only one of the elevators was working for some reason but that could be due to repairs or some external factor. There wasn’t a full view of the room before staying so I didn’t know exactly what to expect but it was more than I could have ever dreamed of. Studio queen was perfection. I loved it so much.

Location was excellent; Queen room was spacious, clean and very well equipped. It’s a nicely modernized and very comfortable room and hotel. I recommend!!!

The breakfast was a little disappointing.The scrambled eggs were awful and the hash browns were cold (bacon was great).The plates were prepared by staff (tell them what you want) due to Covid precautions, which I respect. The toast, cereal, fruit, coffee and cereal were great alternatives to the eggs and hash browns.

More information about parking would have been helpful. Let people know about parking in one of a couple of places in front of the hotel to register and to get a parking pass. Also, you have to go around the block to get to it.

Have you ever booked a place and asked yourself what is the catch? Well this is the place. It is downtown next to several bars. This is the place you book when you want to have a nice evening that includes happy hours and some good food. Super clean, nice staff, nice room. Couldn't ask for more.

I guess some people could complain about the noise from the nearby bars, but they kept me tipsy, so I sleeped well.

The location in downtown Halifax was fantastic, the rooms a very good size and equipped with a kitchenette and the front staff were fantastic especially Carol who helped us move to a different room due to the noise. It was a very busy weekend but she did what she could to help us out.

Just the noise level at night if you were on the busy side. Ask for a room away fromSackville Street
