Gite L'Imprévu

The warm welcome from Rita and Dan, the excellent and varied breakfasts, comfortable and well-equipped room. The location, between two Metro stations, and not a very long walk from downtown Montreal, is very convenient.

It has a shared although spotlessly clean bathroom. I knew that before I booked, so wasn’t surprised — ideally I’d prefer an en suite. The bedroom did have a wash-hand basin however. There are steep steps from the front door up to the rooms; this wasn’t a problem for me but some people would need to know this before booking.

A GREAT PLACE to stay!!! - Rita and Dan are wonderful hosts who really care about their guests. They also give detailed information to explore Montreal. The location is very good, quite close to the metro, Atwater Market and many restaurants. The room was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed having breakfast on the patio very much. The breakfast was just FANTASTIC - so fresh and lovingly prepared! We really felt AT HOME and would LOVE to come back!!!

Small guest house, amazing location to explore the city - it's just 3 minutes to the next metro station. No parking space at the guest house itself, but our hostess was super kind and even went on the streets to show us a close spot and explain everything we needed to know. She also creates the breakfast herself and gives everything to accommodate different tastes and requirements (in my case vegan) which tasted great! We also had some great conversations with her at the table. The rooms were super cute in design, we were really impressed!

Only thing to be aware of is that there's only one bathroom in the hallway for the three or four guestrooms - which is very clean and modern, no problem for us, just something to remember for folks who are uncomfortable with sneaking out on the hallway in the middle of the night to go to the toilet. :)

Hosts were extremely helpful with everything from suggestions on what to do in Montreal, to finding acceptable parking. Location is close to 3 metro stops, many dining options, and the Atwater market for buying picnic supplies. Breakfasts provided were out of this world!! Everything about this stay met or exceeded expectations.

Personally, I enjoyed everything about the stay. Some travelers might not enjoy being away from downtown (although it is a short metro ride), and the neighborhood is full of local life, not dressed up for tourists.

I loved the friendliness and responsiveness of the main B&B keeper Rita. She is very personable, friendly, kind, and attentive. She went out of her way to accommodate my vegan preferences and made exceptionally healthy and yummy breakfast. She was open to my requests. I also had great time conversing with her during breakfast.

I wish rooms had little bit more sound insulation. Still, the area is fairly quiet, so the outside noise was not disturbing.

I absolutely loved the stay overall, however I really enjoyed the brief moments I got to spend with my hosts at breakfast. In addition to an amazing meal, they were very welcoming and fun to be around. While COVID restrictions prevented me from meeting other guests in this fashion, this (my first stay in any B&B) left such a good impression on me that regardless of where I go in the future, I will consider them a top choice over a traditional hotel.

I can't think of anything I would change personally. I had no idea what I was getting into when I reserved the place and I was shocked at how nice my stay was. The only downside was the variety of COVID-based restrictions in place around the city. And that was nothing anyone could fix.

Our stay was incredible, Rita is very understanding, lovely, caring, and easy to communicate with! The room was very clean and comfortable. One of the highlights of this place is the breakfast, prepared by Rita, during this time we also had great conversations! Recommend this place, the location worked really nicely for us, and luckily we could find street parking in front of the b&b.

Room had working aircon and a fan. The breakfasts were absolutely superb and huge; your hostess is a great chef. There are a large number of restaurants and bars within a 5-15minute walk. Downtown can be walked in around 45-60minutes. Parking was easy and free.

Not much really - the accommodation is well described and there we no nasty surprises.

Rita is a host that runs her b&b with authentic love for her guests. Every morning, she welcomes you with a hand-made breakfast, and a chat with her contributes to a good start of the day. The accommodation is clean and has everything and more one needs.

The breakfast was amazing and the bed was so comfortable! The hosts are very kind and they make it feel very much like a home away from home. The metro is very close, about two minutes walk on the same road. There was plenty of parking during my stay outside the house on the street. The room was beautifully decorated and had everything I needed. I will definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Montreal!
