The von Stackelberg Hotel Tallinn

Building design and presentation (beautifully renovated) Location v close to Medieval City, The room we had on the 2nd floor. (We stayed for 1 day at the beginning of the week - went on to other locations in Estonia and returned for a second stay of 3 nights) Excellent breakfast with good coffee, lovely fresh bread and a good selection of food. (This is apart from the eggs- see below)

The eggs at breakfast which were overcooked and cold - this applied to all the types of eggs - fried, scrambled and boiled. The first room we had on the ground floor which had been adapted for a person with disability and had (surprisingly in the circumstances) rather a cold bleak bathroom. Service one evening in the wine bar cafe where guests can go for dinner. Young member of staff on their own and completely overwhelmed.

On multiple occasions during my stay, the staff was nowhere to be found. There was always a guest or two waiting at the counter for them to return, and, while professional, they’re not exactly warm or a particularly friendly lot (which may be a cultural difference). There is no buzzer or bell to call for the desk staff, and calling from one’s room to the reception won’t lead to a call back whenever they do get back to their desk. That’s the one detail they might sort out yet.

We stayed in the zen deluxe junior suite and our room was very spacious and clean. The bathroom was simply stunning. The staff were so incredibly helpful with all requests and queries, it did feel like nothing was too much trouble. They even surprised us at breakfast when it was mentioned in passing that it was my birthday they brought out a cake with candles, lovely touch! The location was within walking distance to the old town which was ideal for us. We're hoping to visit again maybe again this Christmas and The von Stackelberg Hotel would be our first choice when looking to stay in Tallinn again.

A nice room with character in a good location on the edge of the Old Town, a convenient location. Despite being in a busy area, the hotel was peaceful and our room was silent.The bed was very comfortable and the room was well equipped with all toiletries, coffee, sewing kit etc. We did not take the breakfast due to working early but did take a massage and a spa evening which was very pleasant. The massage was one of the most relaxing massages ive had and the spa was very nice. The staff were friendly and the housekeeping each day was superb. Despite the smaller size than expected, we enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend the spa, a massage and some room service from the restaurant.

Our only complaint was that the room was much smaller than we expected from the pictures for a 'zen' room upgrade. The bathroom was very tight in space, quite uncomfortable to even sit without knees hitting the bathtub and wall. However, the spa bath was a welcome addition at the end of a long day on work trips.

The hotel is located just the outskirts of Tallinn city centre but allows you to have a nice walk across the park. Perfect stay for couples even tough we were travelling with a family of four and a dog. The hotel itself has a nice athmosphere and is very castle like but in smaller scale. Staff was friendly and we even managed to get nice service even they held a wedding service during our stay. Would definitely go there again and try out the spa services they are promoting. Jacuzzi in the room was nice addition!

We had slight issue with our room in the beginning but that got solved nicely. Breakfast is very basic but was included so we had it. Might consider having breakfast elsewhere.

The Zen Deluxe room was absolutely fantastic! Spacious room with a huge bathroom which contained a large rain shower and a bubble bath. Bed and couch where extremely comfortable, I have’nt slept this good in a long time. The rooms where quiet and cosy which made it feel private, and the staff where really friendly, professional and helpful. The sauna/spa was also perfect. We had an hour to ourselves at the sauna for free as a part of our deluxe-package, but did also book the spa the next day where we got a glass of bubbles, a snack-plate and rose petals around the private pool. We had the best time ever! We didn’t try the breakfast as we like to sleep in, but we recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to visit Tallinn and like to treat themselves with some luxury for a reasonable price.

we ordered breakfast to the room within the timeslot they gave as an option to choose from (09:30-10:00) and it came even before my wake up alarm (09:20). And they did not have any tray they could give for the breakfast. I had to wake up when they knocked the door around 9:15 and clean the table (after they told me so) with only my underwear on and it took 10min and after that the food was actually cold. and if I remember correctly we did order 2x bacon and eggs but there was bacon only on one plate. that was the only con, otherwise only pro’s.

We stayed one night in the von Stackelberg hotel on the 1st of January 2021. It was the time of strict Covid rules, so all the common areas including restaurant were closed. We booked a Zen room with a jacuzzi and left a note while booking that we had chosen the stay for a little celebration. We were warmly (and very politely) welcomed with the news of upgrade to Zen Deluxe room as they had vacancies. We were also very pleasantly surprised by the romantic decoration in the room (a sweet response to our note about our celebration). The room was spacious, beautifully designed, so as well the bathroom. Loved the toiletries collection as well (I’m quite picky with these). As the restaurant was closed, we were advised to use one of the delivery service available in Tallinn and the staff offered to bring the food to our room once it was delivered to the reception. The (superb) breakfast was also served in the room due to Covid rules. We also asked for a late checkout which we were kindly allowed (free of charge). A truly amazing stay and a perfect beginning to the 2021 – would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxorious stay in Tallinn.

Everything was perfect: the stuff was very kind, the room was in with modern interior with a good design in that beautiful old building. the breakfast is very good and healthy, with fresh fruits. The two very kind ladies at the reception and the room service was very kind and helped me to prepare some surprise’s for my husband’s birthday. I’m very thankful of this an he was happy about the arrangements with rose petals and artistic swans formed from towels on our bed at his birthday. We extended our stay by one night. We‘ll definitely come back in this beautiful hotel.

Our room, Zen spa was excellent. We loved the ampient. Windows were facing to the court yard. Bed was extremely comfortable. We paid extra for private sauna with jacuzzi, it really was worth the money, steam sauna was wonderful. Breakfest was good.

Water pressure was really low. I had hard time to wash out conditioner from my hair. Shower end at our bathroom was dirty. Lights in the bathroom were way too bright and you couldn't adjust them, we worked around this problem by using phones flashlight as lightining.
