Le Clos des Lodges

We had the Etetat room on the first floor, which was lovely. Plenty of room, very comfy bed and great in-room facilities (fridge, coffee machine, shampoo and soap etc). The hotel is lovely, and quite unique in it's style I would say, with some beautiful artwork and ornaments. The continental breakfast sets you up for the day, and you can more or less eat and drink as much as you want from the variety of food available. There is plenty of parking on site too, so no on-street parking necessary. The host is very friendly and speaks mainly French, but is also fluent in English, so that's great for any Brits who aren't so confident with their language skills. Will definitely be booking our next trip, and would recommend this hotel to everyone. Oh, by the way, Bernay, is a lovely town with lots of places to eat and drink, and as a bonus it's within walking distance of the hotel! Fabulous place!!

Nothing to complain about

This is a lovely bed-and-breakfast type of lodging in what was once a lovely home. It has large, safe, private parking, and is situated in a park-like atmosphere with a deck area and pool. The Lodge is close to downtown Bernay and walkable to restaurants. Our first night we were in a small room on the top floor, and the hostess graciously moved us to very large room a floor lower for our 2nd night. The breakfast is very good too. We would highly recommend.

There are circular stairs with no elevator, so keep that in mind. Otherwise, the Le Clos des Lodges is perfect.

We liked the self check in as it was nice and easy for us on arrival. The room was lovely and clean with plenty of space - the bathroom was huge with lots of towels. We were very comfortable for one night. Breakfast in the morning was fine, fairly basic but adequate. The children really enjoyed the pool. We ate at a nearby asian style buffet restaurant, set price as much as you want was brilliant and easy, very close. The property has lots parking and Bernay was walking distance and some lovely shops for gifts. Very happy with our stay.

Nothing all great

A great little hotel with a small but warm swimming pool which after a long drive was most welcome. Easy self check in system. Beautiful room with large ensuite bathroom and full fridge in the room. Fantastic breakfast, everything from boil you own egg, to hams, cheeses, yoghurts , jam, Croissant/rolls, fruit and juices. Amazing value. We also loved the old town of Bernay a great place to wonder round, lots of restaurants and independent shops. Didn't stay long but will definitely make it a destination another time.

Nothing - exceeded our expectations.

The pool area was a real bonus and the facilities were excellent,even down to a small bar area in the kitchen 👍a full size fridge in our room was also a plus ,Ingrid was so friendly and the breakfast was gorgeous,would highly recommend and will definitely be going again 👍such a pleasant surprise when we arrived as wasn't really sure what to expect and it definitely exceeded expectations 10/10 and only a 5 min walk to the centre which was good for bars and restaurants,

There was nothing to not like about this place ,

convenient check in - good beds- breakfast- handy patking- nice rooms and bedrooms.

the room honfleur which we booked for 3 persons was not prepared for 3- bed linnen not present in the room. as we had a late arrival this could not be fixed. luckily we had a fleece blanket in the car but this was not handy for a good night rest of course. house is located next to a railroad- it didn’t disturb us for our night stay but can imagine this is an issue for some people. the stairs are old and make a lot of noise- even if you try to be silent- you hear this in all rooms (linked to an old building of course but for some people this will matter)

When we arrived, our Labrador dog did not like the spiral staircase but having spoken to the owner they quickly arranged a ground floor room for us. The beds were really comfy and breakfast was brilliant.

There was nothing I did not like about the property but was a little disappointed in the town in the evening. Very little open to find something to eat with the dog the only restaurant with covered seating was busy so we ended up getting a Thai takeaway- van by the station which I would recommend.

The building was recently thoroughly renovated. Everything is modern and new. The host, Ingrid, was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. I had a bike and she found a secure place for me to store my bike. The pool was a blessing as there was a heat wave while I was there. It is located only a 10 minute walk from the town center where there was a variety of stores, shops, cafés, restaurants and all other essential services. The town of Bernay itself is a lovely, medieval town that is very centrally located for visiting a whole variety of touristic sites in the nearby area (lovely towns, scenic country roads, châteaux etc.). It is also on a direct train line with Paris (about 1-1/2 hours by train from Paris) and the round trip tickets only cost about 60 euros. I will be returning to this place again I'm sure and continue to explore this lovely region.

There was nothing I didn't like about this establishment. I'll return again the next time I want to visit the area. If there is anything someone doesn't like about this establishment then they are probably just unhappy campers.

Location was easy to find, on the hill as you enter the town of Bernay. Plenty of off-road parking. Spacious breakfast area and conservatory. Very comfortable and warm rooms and the bed was perfect, I managed 6 hours solid sleep which was a bonus.

The corner is tight to get into the road when approaching from the South. The access code was supplied in a very long and detailed email which initially delayed us in accessing the property for a few minutes.

A charming hotel in a lovely building that has been tastefully decorated throughout. Comfortable room and bed and a nice bathroom. A very nice breakfast with a range of local and good quality products, though not the English/Irish breakfast mentioned. Good parking and, the code system for entry worked very well.

It would not stop us staying here again, but some wardrobe storage in the room is needed, only the few hooks on the wall would not be enough if staying for more than a night.
