Hôtel des Ducs

We were in the annex which in itself was absolutely fine. If anything its location was more central. Very quaint. The bed was a decent size and comfortable. The room was well appointed and very clean. The bathroom was large with a great shower. Ideal to enjoy Dijon which is a lovely place. Great for a first stop from Calais.

This explanation is disproportionate to the issue. If you’re driving the annex is one way and the car park the other. You get maps but it would help if there was one map showing the annex and the car park because you have to walk your luggage from the main hotel and then come back and park the car. Anyway don’t be put off -plenty of nice bars and restaurants to chill after.

Very convenient location for attractions and train station. Good bedding. The presence of a mini-bar and a safe and the ability to leave a suitcase before and after settlement. Quiet room overlooking the garden of some palace.

There was someone else's hair on one of the towels. Average, monotonous breakfast. The workforce is pretty weird. It seems like everyone is doing everything. There is no specific division between receptionists, those who work in the breakfast room. Maybe this is the policy of the institution, but it looks, in my opinion, not very good. The dark-skinned maids occupied the only elevator in the morning and did not let them go down. At the same time, guests are not welcomed, which is not acceptable in the hotel business. Pretty strong audibility from the neighbors of the next room and the room upstairs. The lobby was originally tastefully decorated but now has a non-residential feel. Photos on Booking are much more beautiful than the original.

The location is excellent, a few steps from the pedestrian centre of Dijon with it's museums, squares and restaurants. There is no parking on site but the hotel provides a drop-off bay and clear instructions to the recommended car park. Don't worry it's nearby. The receptionist Selina deserves a mention as she provided a smiling, helpful and patient welcome to two very tired travellers. Thank you Selina.

Beware, the standard double rooms are tiny and ours had windows high up on the wall so we couldn't see out of them. It felt quite claustrophobic. If staying for more than one night you may wish to consider booking a more deluxe room.

Nice, clean, spacious, comfortable beds, ideally located right off the Place de La Liberté, excellent breakfast, friendly staff. We stayed in the residence away from the main hotel. Our room had a small outdoor enclosed area and a refrigerator.

Since there is no parking nearby, we needed to park at a parking garage and transport our luggage for a 5-7 minutes walking distance. However, this was only a minor inconvenience, and it was well worth it to be able to stay in the central location. We stayed 2 nights, and there was no need to use our car for the day we were there.

Spacious well-furnished room. Friendly helpful staff, Excellent breakfast with wide choice of options. Very convenient location, with Office de Tourisme little more than a hundred metres away.

Would have graded the stay as excellent except for one issue. Without doubt, the bath/shower was the most dangerous I have experienced in many years of travel. The shower was above the bath, not separate, but this was not the problem. The plastic floor of the bath was flexible so there was a balance problem and, what was worse, was extremely slippery. I only saved myself from falling by grabbing the glass shower screen, cutting my hand in the process. Luckily, I had plasters in my suitcase to cover the wound.

Stayed at the hotel twice in two weeks - both times experience was first class. Reception staff efficient and very helpful with maps, directions and suggestions. Enjoyed breakfasts each day - helpful staff, excellent selection and a bright and cheerful room. Both rooms were spacious and comfortable.

A second luggage rack capable of holding larger suitcases would be nice. Also -Onsite parking is limited, particularly for larger vehicles. Finding the offsite pay parking garage was a bit of a hassel, particularly in the middle of a downpour. However we recognize that parking is difficult in most European cities and appreciate that it was available as this was one of the primary criteria we used in choosing your hotel.

I stayed there for one night. I booked this place as it is a mid point of driving hotel and need a place with a washer to do the laundry. My wife, son and I had 'apartment' which was honestly the most comfortable place we had ever stayed. Apartment is HUGE and fully equiped. Our only regret is that we only stayed there for one night. The location is right along the 'owl trail' so that is perfect place to start sight seeing. Will strongly recommend this place.

Stayed June 22, 23, 2022. Staff were welcoming, courteous helpful, and fluent in English. Breakfast (12euro extra pp) was self serve buffet in a glass enclosed terrace with an excellent selection of items including juices, fruit, cereals, cheese, eggs, sausages, cold cuts, bacon, and baked goods. We arrived at the main hotel, were told that our room was in the new annex about 5 min walk away. Both locations are good, and the annex location is excellent, just off the main square. There is an elevator in the annex. Annex room was modern, queen bed, firm mattress, large bathroom. The main square has both the Palais des Ducs and several excellent eating spots.

Our initial irritation of having to walk 5 minutes with our bags after being dropped by the taxi at the main reception was quickly dispelled when we found the annex location and room to be excellent.

This is the second time we have stayed here and we are very pleased. The flats and rooms are super clean and nicely furnished (especially the flats are equipped with everything you could need). We enjoyed the evening on the balcony listening to live music from a distant bar. The staff are incredibly friendly and the central location is perfect. We will definitely be back.

We stayed in the annex on the 3rd floor, the description did explain that there was no lift and we would have to climb stairs which was fine. But it didn’t make it clear how narrow the stairs were , and they wind around , very difficult with suitcases so only stay on the 3rd floor annex if you do not have much luggage
