Hotel de Normandie

Good central location, plenty of parking behind hotel and large grassed area for dog to run, modern room and en suite despite old fashioned traditional look from the outside. Great shower with soap dispenser. Good sized room. Free WiFi, large flat TV, breakfast looked good as we passed by though did not take any (don't eat in morning when travelling).

It may have been me but I thought I booked a double, we got 2 single beds. Did not bother to mention as just pushed them together to make a huge comfortable bed. Only down side was noise from road (minimal after 23.00) as had windows open at night

We were met by our hostess who explained about the city tax and parking fees and asked us about breakfast. We had already booked a space and it was very easy to put the car where it would be safe for the night. Our room was cosy and full of rustic Normandy charm and we slept well, despite there being a lot of footfall on the street below our window (it was the evening before Bastille Day, after all, and lots of people had been out for their parade).

The shower room is a bit cramped but was adequate; a good point was the availability of shower gel. Their restaurant is now closed for evening meals even though they serve a self-service breakfast.

The hotel had plenty of old fashioned character and yet our room was beautifully decorated, comfortable and roomy. The location was excellent, on the edge of the main town as you drive in but with lots of restaurants, bars and the charm of the cathedral and river all an easy walk. Safe parking behind the building was a big plus point, the staff were welcoming and the price very reasonable.

All was good! If it was overly hot and you had to open a window there might be street noise in our front bedroom, so a fan would be a good addition to the room?

Lovely room, very clean, decent sized bathroom, very quiet, very well situated and a short walk from a myriad of lovely restaurants. Excellent breakfast and very good secure parking. The hotel was easy to find and had everything we needed. The most impressive element of our stay was the fantastic service from the staff who could not have done more to be helpful and friendly. This is a classic, typical French hotel at its very best and it was fantastic value for money. Highly recommended

so easy to find, brilliant off street secure parking without the usual narrow access restraints. yes the hotel seemed rundown but it was great value for money. breakfast was good and i wish the proprietor well. location is brilliant for exploring an extremely beautiful town. we would definitely use this hotel again to spend more time in this gem of a town.

all good, i can understand if a business has been through tough times, in simple terms you get what you pay for, this was good value for money.

A Sunday is an odd day to arrive as it is self service in the afternoon. You need to contact the hotel the day before arriving to get the main gate (Garage door type) entry code. I forgot and was a bit confused when we arrived to find everything locked up. I took out my mobile phone to ring for help and found a message telling me the code. There was nobody in reception but a sheet of paper with names on and key numbers and of course some keys. From then on it was plain sailing. I was very impressed with the forethought that the hotel had shown. The bathroom was fully functional and supplied liquid soap which I find convenient. The Hotel is a two minute walk from the "London Pub" and a pint of Guinness.

It would have been nice if the wifi password could have been in the room. I had to wait until someone was available for reception to get the password but it wasn't really a problem and the gentleman was very friendly and helpful.

We stop here every time we travel to our house in the South of France. The rooms are immaculate, the hotel has so much charm and is right in the centre of beautiful Evreux with it's numerous restaurants and bars and the customer service is warm, friendly and on point. The place is dog friendly and the parking is very secure. Every time we travel the lovely owners reserve us our own ground floor room across the court yard as we travel with our two dogs. I love staying here and I love this place!

Very central hotel- just a few steps away from lively brasseries. Newly refurbished room with lovely comfortable beds with excellent quality linen. Convenient parking on site.

Everything was fine, but I would suggest putting a couple of wall hooks in the bathroom for hanging towels and nightclothes. Only one towel each - it would be better to provide a hand towel as well as a bath towel. Coffee making equipment in the room would be appreciated.

Spacious and very clean room. Comfortable bed and sufficient extra pillows and towels available. Although paid extra for parking, this was secure and easily accessible. Good option for guests that have a dog.

Hôtel description says rooms have tea/coffee making facilities but none available in rooms. Breakfast selection was limited - more croissants and fruit varieties would have been good. Wifi range could be increased - did not work at all in our rooms.

Good traditional hotel, right in centre of the city, close to restaurants. Large private parking at rear, secure too. Spacious room. Dog friendly with reasonable charge of 6 euros per dog.

Couldn't really fault the hotel. Would have been nice if the restaurant were open at night, but it was a Sunday. The limit on checkin by 7pm was a bit of a worry as we had a long drive to get there by that time.
