Le Gouverneur Hotel

The room was nice--clean and pretty. The hotel itself is cute and has a nice history, which we love. Easily located as well which is nice when traveling by car. Staff was helpful and spoke English, which always helps us less linguistically talented travelers.

The "air conditioned" rooms didn't really apply to all. Our room was not air conditioned which normally is not an issue, but in this summer heatwave it was. Luckily there was a fan in the closet which helped, but it was a disappointment to find this amenity didn't apply to all rooms.

This is our main choice for the Obernai region. This hotel is consistently great, charming, and its outstanding location remains unbeatable. Also, the cozy breakfast room always comes thru with authentic delicious treats local Alsace. It is not about quantity, it's about the superb quality and freshness of the breads, fruit, jams, cheeses and cold cuts. Can't go wrong.

It's all good. Worth noting is that I only base my scores for what it is, and what it advertises. In this case, comparing it to other similar historical charming renovated hotels. Please do not expect a high rise with elevators/ escalators.

The location of the hotel is perfact in the centre of Obernai. The room was OK with nice bathroom and drinks tray. It was a little warm but a fan was provided. The secure private parking was very good even at 7 euros per night. The breakfast breakfast was disappointing. Not much choice of meat and cheese, both the bread and croissants were dry.

The breakfast was very poor for the cost.

Very nice hotel concept with unique rooms. Very friendly staff (we left there a quite expensive sport equipment and they stored it for us for weeks). Located in the center of Obernai, but the rooms are quiet, you can relax or work anytime. The building is beautiful as well as the decorations.

Rooms are little and it can be uncomfortable for those staying longer. No balcons to the rooms.

We travelled as 2 families and our rooms were next to each other. The hotel was very kid friendly and provided an excellent breakfast. The front desk staff was very helpful.

The rooms were on the 3rd floor and somewhat tight for a family of 4 adults and luggage. we didn't mind since we spent most of our time sightseeing. The hotel has limited parking space but a free public parking lot is located close by.

We were looking for a charming hotel with history somewhere near the centre of town that had decent parking. We absolutely got what we wanted. The hotel is steeped in history but still very comfortable and the staff were super friendly.

It's a shame that there was no air conditioning but not surprising given the age of the building. They did though provide a large and very effective floor fan which made a difference.

Excellent location, lovely courtyard, very good breakfast, friendly staff which speaks German as well as English, free parking very close by.

This is a historical building with wooden plank flooring. The floor squeaks and creaks when a guest in the neighboring room moves around - which can be quite disturbing, in particular in the mornings.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Obernai. Family room was spacious and located on the ground floor which made wheeling the buggy in super convenient. The room beautifully done within the rustic style of the hotel. Breakfast diverse and plentiful. Staff was very attentive. The courtyard is just a dream for a morning coffee.

Breakfast was average - not a lot of choice, thought. Location is perfect - right in front of the pedestrian area of Obernai and a 2 minutes walk from a very large and free car park. Family rooms are nicely laid out with two separate (by a door) areas.

Mattresses were quite old and not very comfortable.

Really nice location, very friendly stuff, big room for 4 persons, 20 minutes from Strasbourg.

No air conditioning, it was hot and we could not open the windows, because there is some spot outside on our side where there was a lot of people till 3 am and were really loud. So we would be happy for air conditioning.
