Hôtel L'Aiguille Percée

My two teenage boys and I stayed for 9 nights at Aiguille Percee. This hotel is excellent - room; cleanliness; sauna the adjacent plunge pool and bucket shower are in a beautifully designed facility with towels and bath robes provided. The bar and dining room are laid out as an alpine lodge with a roaring fire next to the bar, which this is really. Breakfasts offer a large and full continental alongside hot for boiled/scrambled eggs, bacon & sausage. We paid for dinner b&B. The hotel has an agreement with 4 other hotels/restaurants whereby you ask to reserve a place for dinner at one of these for a maximum surcharge of 10 euros a head; we took advantage of this at Campanules, Levanna and Arbina, all within 70 meters. This gave a variety of eateries, which were all excellent. What blew all our minds is the young, skilled and committed staff; they are all exceptional. What comes across is they are a close knit mutually supporting team, which give a strong feeling of camaraderie. We definitely would see if we can return to Aiguille Percee on our next visit. We do thank the staff for making our stay so positive.

The current owners of this hotel took over in December 2022 and some of the reviews are of the previous owners. We were blown away by the friendliness of the staff, the location of the hotel (less than 2 mins walk to two main lifts in Tignes Le Lac!) and the food, which surpassed our expectations for the cost of our stay (tartiflette, steak, fondue, beef bourguignon were all highlights). The breakfast buffet is tasty too. The sauna and steam room are great after a hard day’s skiing although there were no robes or slippers provided (this may change though as staff are aware). Definitely try one of the hotel’s sister restaurants for an extra €10pp - we enjoyed an excellent raclette meal at La Chaumiere.

Robes and slippers would have made the trip to the spa less awkward, and a kettle in the room would go far!

The staff are wonderful. The breakfast was varied. the views are perfect.

My room was advertised as sleeping 4 adults, with 3 rooms. As a father, taking an 18 year old daughter on holiday, I was hoping that we had separate rooms, for privacy. She would not like to see me getting changed, and she was very uncomfortable with me being in the same room, as she got changed. When I saw the accommodation had 3 rooms, unlike the 2 room alternatives, imagine my confusion when the bathroom and the w/c were two separate rooms and the sleeping area only one. Bathrooms and w/c areas in my experience are most often in the same room, hence my presumption that the 3 room option lead me to think I would have two sleep areas. This was not the case

We booked this hotel last minute and got an excellent half board deal. The rooms were well equipped and the bathrooms were spacious. The location was fabulous, just a couple of minutes from the ski lifts, ski shops, supermarket, restaurants. and central bus station. Both breakfast and dinner were great every day, and the Christmas eve dinner was exceptional. The lounge bar area was lovely, especially with the open fire, and the men in the group enjoyed the pool table. We also enjoyed the spa area including the loungers and the sauna.

The rooms that we had were quite small (I believe there are other sizes available). The swimming pool was also rather chilly.

I usually prefer more of a luxury stay but this is a great comfortable stay on the mountain if you care more about skiing than accomodation. Staff were very nice and welcoming even with our limited French speaking.

I usually prefer more “frills” when it comes to a stay like having a mini bar or anything like that that makes the stay more convenient. but can’t complain as it’s only a 3 star hotel so for that I rate it highly as it was comfortable and affordable.

Great location, close to the slopes. The staff were all excellent. particularly Juliette who was amazing when helping us with our booking and Clara and other staff who stayed late for our arrival (delayed due to traffic) and prepared us dinner long after the kitchen had closed. Nice spa facilities. Good selection of food at breakfast. Fantastic view from the restaurant and our room, overlooking the Lake.

Gorgeous location, plenty of ski storage with boot dryers, friendly and accommodating staff. Tasty food with good options to eat elsewhere within the half board scheme. Loads of storage and hanging space in the room, balcony too

Steam room wasn't working, room very warm so needed to manage radiator control ourselves throughout the stay, extractor fan not working.

Breakfast was good. Location great. Very close to ski lifts, next to a ski hire shop. Also close to ski bus stop, bars, restaurants and shops. Local market on a couple of times. Staff friendly, professional and helpful. Room cleaned daily, beds made and towels changed as necessary.

Separate toilet would benefit from small hand wash basin in it. No tea/coffee making facilities or fridge in the room.

The sauna/steam room/pool facilities are excellent. Our room was quite small but very comfortable. The restaurant has one set menu for dinner. We ate dinner there twice during our stay and the food was excellent, in generous portions. What's more, it was a very good price relative to other options available in Tignes. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

If you are staying in the front of the hotel (rooms ending -01 or -02) during the winter months, it is pretty likely you will get a very early wake-up call, as the snowplough depot seems to be just around the corner. There is obviously nothing this or other hotels facing the street can do about this, but maybe worth bearing in mind if you are booking far enough ahead to be able to select your room.

Tried to book other restaurants and it was fully booked throughout our stay of 7 days. No kids menu which we found a bit difficult for our 9 yo, but staff were very accommodating and chef made special meals for him.
