The room was impressively beautiful! And unexpectedly spacious too! I'd love to stay there again! It's in the centre of the Old City, but the parking garage is conveniently right around the corner!

The reception was closed by the time I arrived, so in order to check in, I had to call a number that was posted on the door. Then they check your details and give you a code with which to open a key-safe, to there find your key. It worked just fine, only I hadn't expected it - so I was looking a bit surprised at first, when I initially found the door closed.. :-) But no problem. Friendly help was just a phone call away!

The hotel is ideally located in the city centre close to the Altstadtmarkt, the Kohlmarkt and the pedestrian zone for exploring the city as well as close to the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Platz where you have several tramway and bus lines (for example to the main station) for arrival and departure as well exploring the surrounding region (Wolfsburg, Wolfenbüttel, Goslar, Bad Harzburg, ...). It is in a quite calm street. The building is the oldest or at least amongst the oldest still standing timbered buildings of the city. There is also a nice patio in the rear of the hotel where you can relax. My room was very big with a nice wooden ceiling and old barock type wood windows in the first floor. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast offers a good choice, even if it would be nice to have a different choice on different days. You take the breakfast in a beautiful room with a painted wooden ceiling which is also a restaurant specialized in "Flammkuchen". You have also a gourmet restaurant on the left side of the hotel. If the reception is not open, you retrieve your keys from a locker at the entrance at any time.

Nothing to declare.

The location is superb, right in the centre of the old town location, with easy access to shopping and food nearby. I was told by a local friend that the house is indeed a long-preserved building in the city and it was an honor to stay this hotel. The hotel service is also very attentived and the breakfast will not disappoint you.

One suggestion, the room we stayed in was a converted third floor loft, and as the sloping wall behind the main bed was white, it was prone to visual errors, which I missed twice and ended up hitting my head.

Really beautiful old-worldly hotel, hundreds of years old. Like staying in a mini castle. Rooms are huge in size (although not high ceilings in my room), with quaint, warm decor. Staff are really friendly, always with a smile! Overall a lovely stay.

It was difficult to control the temperature in the room, but not overly uncomfortable. My room was on the streetside, so there was some traffic noise in the morning, but nothing too bad. As noted above, the ceiling height is not huge (I was on 2nd floor), so standing in the shower for me was very close to touching my head on the roof :P Just a warning if you are very tall, to maybe request a room on the bottom floor.

I loved the general vibe of this place. Well preserved and great feeling. Old timber in the walls and roof really makes you feel like visiting the old times.

Bathroom was very dated. It is not much of a problem. Just an observation. It is exactly like on photos so no dissapointment there

A cosy, old-style German house, located near Old City Rathaus, close to public transport and City centre.

It is good to know that there is no elevator, so carrying up heavy luggage might be difficult.

interesting experience with good value for money

poor breakfast. having in mind there was a code locker for the key we needed to call the property in order to get the code. TIP: the phone number from booking or web, nobody is answering it so better go to the property and call the phone number displayed on the door in order to get the access code.
