Maritim Hotel Darmstadt

Lovely, comfortable and clean room with a balcony. Excellent and helpful hotel staff (especially at the reception desk). Perfect location of the hotel.

No instant coffee sachets in the room, although sugar and cream (probably suitable also for coffee) were available. Some problems with the internet connection (quality was not so good, and wi-fi was not available in the whole room).

Conveniently located in the middle of train station and Eumetsat. Quite big, well preserved hotel with good facilities. Quick check in. Clean, nice choice of food for breakfast.

Morning elevators may be quite crowded and take 5min to arrive. The most strange shower controls, with sensor buttons, that stop responding after everything gets wet, and absolutely no controls for pressure. I like taking Niagara Falls for shower, some may not. I couldn't connect to WiFi, following description it seems they charge for it, little to say I'm surprised, it's 2020s already.

Nice, clean, and comfortable room. Very good shared amenities at the hotel. Quiet/good noise isolation. AC is available and temperature is controllable. Glassware and a mini fridge are available in the room.

It's 2023 and there are apparently still hotels without power sockets near the beds. Couldn't even unplug the bedside lamp like I usually do in these situations... The shower has the most convoluted controls ever. I don't need a digital interface, I need something that doesn't require me to try 5 times to turn on/off the water. The wifi is low quality and very speed limited.

I have asked for a room with a bathtub, and it was made available to me on this particular occasion. Because of the long work days while I'm in Darmstadt, having a bath available at the end of the day really helped. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the cleaning was impeccable. On the occasions that I had breakfast, I enjoyed the excellent variety available.

The lines at the desk were occasionally long (checkin, checkout), but the staff were always helpful.

1. The staff is very professional and helpful. 2. Breakfast is exceptionally good. They have lots of options and also cater to custom requirements. 3. Location is good as it close to bahnhof and taxis are available outside as well. 4. Rooms are clean and they also have started initiatives to help environment, so you can close if the room needs daily cleaning.

1. The AC does not seem to work which i have experienced in the past as well. Keeping windows open is not usually an option as the outside street is usually busy.

The staff was fantastic and super helpful. I would like to thank the reception staff, especially lady called Selke that went out of her way to help me by providing me with necessary cosmetic product I forgot to bring with me, while all the shops around were already closed. Room was very clean and comfortable, and thank you so much for the forget me not flower seeds present, I most definitely won't forget my stay and would recommend it to others! Great location by the main train/bus station. Moreover, delicious breakfast that will keep you fueled the whole day!

The free wifi is very slow, would definitely ask for improvement if considering the business travelers.

I'd like to praise the reception desk staff, who were effective and supportive in providing me with help when I needed to seek medical assistance. Having issues like this in a foreign country is always stressful but, thanks to their support, everything was soon dealt with and sorted out. They were amazing. Other high points: luxurious breakfast

The fruit juices offered during breakfast, made from concentrates, were not to my taste. Yet, given the overwhelming variety of food and beverage available, this detail is totally negligible.

The room was clean and comfortable as usual, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I travel here for work often, and it is the default hotel to stay for these reasons.

The breakfast is excellent in terms of variety of food, but it was packed on Sunday at quarter to 9, and some items were running out; and I got turned away briefly when trying to order an omlette ("come back in 5 minutes"). But I understand that it is a German trait to be straightforward like this!

We stayed in a familyroom which was very spacious and had good beds also the beds for the kids. Great rainshower in the bathroom. The airco was working great in the room and in the rest of the hotel especially since it was almost 40 degrees outside. The breakfast was really excellent with a lot of choices. The location of the hotel is close to the highway but also close to some restaurants.

The hotel has only an underground parking garage which has a very limited height (1.80m) so a car with a roofbox on top won't fit. You can park around the corner of the hotel but this public parking a ticket for a day (24 hours) is 5 euro. Unfortunately the swimmingpool was closed ( until end of the summer) but this was mentioned upfront.

Aircon worked. Twin room had ok single beds. Fine to sleep in. Was outside the conference season so the room rate was good value for money. TV has free hdmi ports so you can use your own Google TV device if you know how and also have your own 5G with you Nice view from 10th floor

Parking fee for 20 eur per night is a little steep, but there is no alternative if you come by car. No coffee/tee set in the rooms.
