The hotel is in a prime location on Ludwigstrasse in the Partenkirchen area of Garmisch-Partenkirchen; however, there is another Atlas Hotel in the Garmisch area as well. Both hotels have preferential locations. The staff is beyond any other hotel staff anywhere. The front desk staff is exceptional at their jobs, always helpful, kind and personable. There is a Sissi Lounge (named after Empress Sissi of Bavaria) with a wonderful piano player; a bar for drinks and coffee and various cakes. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The restaurant is exceptional with quality and diversified food. Presentation is elegant and the food is delicious. The wait service is professional and on point.

What a terrific location in the beautiful area of Gar-Par! It was an old school type hotel, but in the most wonderful way. The staff went above and beyond to help. Our room was a bit of a walk through a garden type area with stairs, but the nice man at the front desk brought our bags up to us. The morning breakfast is well worth it and we did it each day before beginning our sight seeing. It’s close enough to walk to the train that takes you to the top of the mountain, to many shops, restaurants, and even a grocery store. The tub was very large, we had a patio and due to the heat, never shut the patio door and felt very safe. From our window we could see the mountains. I can’t wait to go back!

It could have used a fan! (It was VERY hot when we were here in August.)

Superb location in the main pedestrian area of Partenkirchen. We were greeted at reception with a glass of Prosecco and a hot towel, both of which were very welcome. The hotel is beautiful and has amazing views of the mountains. It is full of period features and furnishings. Our room had a small terrace, which was nice, and there is also a large decking area to sit out on and enjoy the view.

Obviously, there is no air-con in the bedrooms as it is such an old building, but we were provided with a fan upon request. The curtains in the room didn't meet as they weren't wide enough, which was a minor inconvenience.

The hotel is located on a nice street in Partenkirchen with shops, restaurants and a bakery all close by. There is a marked trail to follow into Garmisch which takes about 20 minutes to walk. We were also able to walk to the Garmish Olympia Stadium from the hotel with ease. Whilst the hotel has a small carpark, I personally think there was a risk of being blocked in, so we used the adjacent public underground carpark which is only a few metres from the rear entrance to the hotel. During our stay we tried the Hotel restaurant which whilst offering a limited choice, it provided fair value for money in comparison to nearby restaurants.

We were allocated a room in the older part of the hotel which we wanted in preference to a modern room. However, some minor room maintenance was need and would improve matters if completed.

I very rarely give 10s on reviews, I think this is only the 2nd one I have ever given over my years on this site. But this hotel completely deserves it. The staff were very friendly for my entire visit. From arrival we were made to feel very welcome and the staff made sure to check on us at breakfast. The breakfast was extremely good and included some really good things that I was not expecting to see at a hotel breakfast, such as Leberkäse. I also really appreciated the option to have an omelette made to order (with requested fillings), in addition to the other options for cooked eggs. The rooms are very comfy and were cool despite the heat and the surroundings were beautiful in all directions (we overlooked the hotel 'courtyard', which has a garden and a good view of the mountains. The historic Ludwigstraße is on the other side of the hotel and is very pretty (this is possibly the best street you could stay on in Partenkirchen). The hotel building itself is also very pretty, both inside and out. The walk from the railway station is about 15 minutes long and is flat, although you should be able to take a bus to the hotel (however, this was only running to the Rathausplatz, during out stay, due to roadworks). Walks to the Zugspitzbahn station (for Eibsee and the mountains), by the main station, would probably take about 5 more minutes. The Wankbahn is only 20 minutes away on foot, while the Olympic-Skistadion (including the Eckbauerbahn and Partnachklamm) is 30 minutes. I had no noise issues during this stay, the rooms were clean and well maintained and we had plenty of access to facilities (such as room service), should we have wished to used them. I will absolutely be visiting this hotel again when I next stay in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Aside from a very minor issue, where our shower door stuck a bit, I really can't think of any complaints I had about the stay. I certainly had no major issues with the hotel or stay. Someone threw some litter on to our ground floor balcony/terrace, but this is not the fault of the hotel and I can imagine this would have been cleaned away by the evening - if were staying again that night. Without buses it could take up to 30 minutes to walk to some attractions (such as the Olympic-Skistadion), however this was not an issue for me (but I can imagine it may be the only serious issue here for some travellers).

We got a free upgrade on the room from a double to 2 single beds for me and my son. The beds were very comfortable. The location is really beautiful. You can step out across the street to two brauerei restaurants and a bakery and you're very close to the shops too. There's a parking garage for €5 a day just 50m away. Very good service and a very unstressful place to be

The heating made a buzzing sound. Just on one night but quite late. There was a skylight in a room with no blind on it which meant you couldn't keep the room dark past dawn. I enjoyed the sauna but it needed a bit more attention - It was a little too hot (according to an experienced sauna user that I met there). However the spa area is very relaxing and spacious .

Access to the hotel is via a semi-pedestrian one-way street. Not a problem when you know but not immediately evident. Very good reception with the receptionist proposing a (free) glass of sparkling wine as the luggage was taken up to the room. Car parking in a multi-storey but very close and at a reasonable cost (5 euros per day). The small-ish but quite comfortable room looked over the street but noise was never a problem for there was negligible traffic and the church bells probably produced the most decibels though were silenced at night. Breakfast offered all that one might want and efficiently served and cleared but the evening meal was less impressive though there were also a half dozen other eating places within a couple of minutes' walk. Stylish, very solid and Bavarian traditional decoration in the public areas.

Friendly and accommodating staff. Excellent location right in Ludwigstraße. Wonderful cafes and beer bars across the street. Great Sauna with a view of the mountains.Good views from the room if you book the relevant ones. We stayed during the long weekend and the hotel was fully booked. The staff helped us get a double bed(even though we had booked a twin one coz everything was booked). The outdoor area is quite pretty and picturesque even though the pool wasn’t a 100% clean(didn’t bother me as I wasn’t planning on taking a swim).Great vintage vibes throughout the hotel.

Since the hotel had vintage vibes means that the rooms were not super modern and comfortable(quite dimly lit rooms, 2 lights were not working but even if they were would not have helped much. Weak wifi.No coffee kettles etc). Scope of improvement by improving comfort levels of rooms while still keeping them vintage

Our room was a little small and had too much furniture in it but the bed was very comfortable. Parking was easy and not expensive. We had dinner in the hotel on one night and the food was very good. Coffee was really good and plentiful.

Super location with the stunning views from the balcony. Also a very prettygarden. Traditional furnishing throughout. After a long hot journey being given a damp handtowel, glass of juice and a glass of prosecco was a very welcome touch.

The interior although charming and traditional a bit worn around the edges. Understandable since not refurbished since 2009. The restaurant was suffering from the widespread lack of staff. Long wait for food. Reception and buffet staff not affected although the hotel did seem a bit quiet.
