Mercure Hotel Köln West

The hotel was really good. Really nice rooms and beds. The breakfast was superb, plenty of choices and they never run out of anything. The staff was always courteous and really helpful, they make you feel that you are in a high standard hotel. I used the swimming pool and sauna and they are really well maintained and clean and a joy to use. They are not massive but it is perfect for recreational use.

Nothing to do with the hotel but at the moment we were there, the tram line 7 that is the main and useful connection to the city center was with repairs. That made our commuting to the center of Cologne a bit less comfortable and we ended up using a lot freenow and taxis (including an unpleasant experience with a local taxi driver that wanted to scam the tourist...). So, few advice for fellow travelers: - Don't be discouraged for the distance from the hotel to the city center, with the tram you are in no time and comfortable in the city center (the stop is just 5 mins walk from the hotel). - Always check the transport pages to be up to date with works, etcetera... - Don't trust local taxi drivers. Always use an app with a closed prices for your trip. Really disappointed with that.

Easy to find it. Close to motorways and also shops.

Disappointed, I asked the reception (lady on the phone from reception) by roomservice 2- 3 dl milk and sugar to deliver to the room. They brought creama powder. Its not the same. For excellent customer service they could do better if they put more effort on the case and not rush to put the phone on me. I did not wish in free even we had breakfast paid and we didnt . We needed milk. It is pretty simple request.

Very clean hotel with friendly staff willing to assist with one exception. This is about the fifth time I have stayed there and I will return again. Close to entrances to major highways.

The first person who waited on me stated they were all booked up even though I had made reservations almost six months prior. Another person stepped in and gave me the room (twin beds) that I asked for. Parking spaces are too tight. Hotel had no USB ports to charge a phone.

The night manager Emir was extremely welcoming and helpful when we checked in late and helped us arrange a late dinner and advised us on how to reach the wedding location. Emir was very professional and kind. Shower has good water pressure. Quiet rooms despite full occupancy.

The hotel bar/restaurant was closed during our stay as the cook was out sick and they apparently didn’t have backup cooks. It was possible to purchase drinks and snacks from reception although the choices were limited.

The bed was wonderful. The rooms were adequate. Exactly what I expected. The hotel had a parking space which I could use for free. There are possibilities to do some shopping in the area. Cologne city center is only a tram ride away and a station is just a walk away. Saves you all the hassles of finding a parking space in the city center.

The most lovable experience was to have the swimming pool. We had spent hours in the swimming pool. It was perfect in size for me. I don't know swimming but still found it super comfortable. The sauna was also very nice and soothing. My friends and I do not speak German but still found our stay beautiful because of the staffs. They were very nice and helpful. They could speak English. The overall experience in this Hotel sums up to the word 'excellent'.

Great location. Not far off the highway. Very close to public transportation, which made it easy to get to downtown Cologne. Friend staff and delicious breakfast. Our family of 5 rented 2 adjoining rooms and it was the perfect amount of space for us.

Not a big deal, but there weren’t any towels in the pool room.

Clean rooms; comfortable beds; good breakfast in a beatiful garden; kind staff.

A bit far away from the center; but if you travel by car, this won't be a problem. As a second point, even though this is not a very important issue, its swimming pool is not big enough.

Lovely welcome, helpful staff, clean, great facilities. Comfortable room. Actually working sauna and a nice (small) pool to cool down. 24/7 bar! Lot of facilities around the hotel, shops etc.

Great value for money overall, the breakfast seemed unreasonably too pricey.

The front desk staff went above and beyond. they were exceptionally friendly and helpful the entire week I was there. I truly appreciated all of their efforts.

it was a shame that the restaurant was not open for dinner since there are no other options in the area to grab a bite to eat.
