Barceló Guatemala City

This hotel is one of my favourite so far. It is very big. The hotel is so organized and service is very quick. They have gym 24 hours and nice swimming pool opens till late. The airport shuttle is free and runs every hour. So far of all the hotels I have been too, they are the most precautionary in terms of covid. The staffs are super nice. They have couple of restaurants and bars on site and 24 hours service which was great cos I had no time to go to restaurants. The breakfast buffet is huge and have coffee machines too. I love their coffee machines cos their lattes and cappuccinos are way better than Starbucks. Hello Guatemala. I love this hotel.

I loved the staff. They were helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was awesome but expensive. The room was perfect with a beautiful view of the city and beds were really comfy. The room was exceptionally quiet. The airport shuttle was wonderful. The pool was inviting and it was nice to have a couple of restaurants within the Barcelo to choose from. The location was decent and easy to get anywhere with an Uber. There was a team of people around the hotel to assist you with all your needs. I felt extremely safe in and around the hotel.

I wish the cost of breakfast was a little lower.

I have stayed in this hotel previously. It is upscale, staff members are more than eager to assist, and the two restaurants I have visited have been outstanding, especially the Japanese. I also like the fact that every staff member was dressed in a uniform or a business suit. The gift shop is filled with interesting Guatemalan gifts, from trinkets to textiles. The property is landscaped beautifully and is encompassed in a tall iron fence with gates where security personnel stop each vehicle to ask the passengers’ business. I really appreciate the security.

The carpet was a lottli, but very clean and comfortable.

Great location. Staff is very friendly. Service great. Exceptionally clean. Nice breakfast. We took the family suit, which is very spacious and comfortable. It has two floors. First floor has a living room with pull out couch and full bath. Second floor has two Queen beds and another full bath. Comfy beds. It’s really comfortable for a family of 4. I highly recommend the hotel for a family.

The only reason why I don’t you’ve it a 10 is that the hotel is a little outdated and showing a few signs of age. Rooms just need to be updated a decore brought up to date. Also the long pillows they have on the beds are a little weird. It would be better to have regular size pillows for the queen beds. But the property is still nice and hotel is very good.

the night receptionist first told one of our group that they didn’t have a reservation because we arrived at midnight. (our reservations were for the 27th and it was now the 28th. the hotel was aware of our arrival time) also a reminder was sent from Dallas and confirmed by the hotel earlier that evening. then she said she simply didn’t receive the confirmation from booking.com but we all had confirmation numbers. she finally checked our friends in but it took 45 mins and there were 19 other people waiting behind our group, to also check in. she was the only receptionist on duty.

The overall facilities are very nice. The room was big enough, as expected. the staff was helpful and friendly. The best part was the Spa, very professional and great massage!

We would have liked to swim in the pool and relax a bit in that area but it was impossible, the pool was crowded with kids jumping all around and the music was so loud that reading a book was out of the question. The bed mattress was too soft and the shower was too old. Considering the nice facilities, the room need some refurbishment

Breakfast is always a pleasure to have at Barcelo, is nostalgic for me being from Guatemala coming home and leaving home with a taste of Guatemala. is a breakfast for the soul of the chapines arriving and leaving our beautiful Guatemala.

The beds were old you rolled to the middle Hopefully next year they will have new ones :) specially we come to Barcelo after a very long trip from The Netherlands or when we will leave Guatemala we would love a good night sleep.

I have stayed at Barceló more than a dozen times, and will likely still stay here a few nights each year when I travel to Guatemala. The facilities (pool, bars, restaurants) are good. Most of the staff is helpful and friendly. Good location close to airport and zona viva. Breakfast is always amazing!

I've stayed here many times, but this time just wasn't as good. Some of the staff were less than friendly - especially some of the security (though all of the restaurant staff were great!). Room service came to my room by accident at 2:30am one morning because they went to the wrong room. There were many things on their menus that they didn't actually have, which was a bit frustrating.

The food , Room was neat and big , the staff all were very helpful and nice for anything you need the pool and Gym area i enjoyed very much

Hotel new policy When I checked out I asked if we could use the pool 2 hours while waiting on the shuttle the answer was that we need to pay 30 us per person!!!!! After 4 nights in the hotel That was not like this before
