Hotel Central Basilica

Excellent location. Literally steps from St. Stephen's Basilica and many restaurants and attractions. Good access to public transportation as well.

Bathroom was an odd use of space given how small the bedroom portion is. The bathtub had only a handheld shower head with no option to hang on the wall in a position to use as a typical shower head. This in combination with there being no shower door/curtain made for a huge mess in the bathroom after even a very cautious shower. For me, this was a frustrating feature. Unsure if this was simply a quirk of my room, or if others are the same. I would stay again given the reasonable cost and exceptional location, but would certainly inquire about a different shower situation if possible.

Fantastic hotel! Location is outstanding, cleanliness outstanding, breakfast was beautiful. Very comfortable, safe stay! Really made my experience in Budapest 10x better at an already beautiful City. Very quiet and beautiful, faultless really. I will be booking again in the future!

Excellent location in the city center. Airport bus stop 5 min walk. The room had windows to the courtyard, so no noise. But sometimes during the day you could hear the ringing of cathedral bells (hope because of Easter). Also you may hear almost everything from the corridor, but that's common for the hotels. Good breakfast with variability of meat, cheese, fruits and beverages (even sparkling wine is available). Polite staff ready to help with any question. The room was warm and well equipped for living (safe, hair dryer, bathroom stuff, kettle, fridge, air conditioner, big mirror, king-size comfortable bed, slippers and so on). There was no iron in the room, but that wasn't a problem for me. Interesting design in the whole hotel adds some vibes.

There are no disadvantages, but it would be nice to: - fix the door in the shower, to be able to close them without gaps - add smth to watch on TV - have wider curtains, otherwise there is a little bit of light in the night because of lights from the courtyard

The beds were very comfortable and the rooms nicely furnished. The central location was convenient and it's well-insulated windows drowned out the beautiful tolling bells of St. Stephen's Cathedral. The breakfast was abundant with enough to cover both European and American tastes. They even were able to cater to our gluten-free diet and made delicious, strong decaf coffee for us. Everyone was orificient in English and were ready to assist.

We were unable to understand how the room's thermostat worked and even though workers came to make adjustments, we were unable to have it set to our liking. The only other comment we had was probably due to our lack of experience re showers without surrounds. How do you keep water from going everywhere?

Suite with two rooms, two bathrooms, and sitting room. Amazing buffet breakfast, included. Very helpful staff, all fluent in English. Great location near subway and so many good restaurants. ( varied prices). Two blocks to walk to the Danube. Less than one block to the Hop on and Off Bus, main stop on route

We needed a table or real desk in the sitting room. All we had was a sofa, and tiny coffee table. We had a minibar..empty but had water bottles, and it did not work. They said it was not supposed to be cool, so they were not able to do anything. We wanted to put some of the food we purchased in it. The staff offered that we could put things in their staff refrigerator, but we thought that wounded strange.

Excellent location right next to the Basilica. Restaurants, bars and coffee shops all around the hotel. Easy walking distance to all the attractions of Budapest. It was my birthday and I found a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine in the room - such a lovely touch! The room was big with two windows overlooking the street and the Basilica. The Pope was paying a visit to the Basilica on that day so the bells were ringing all the time and could be heard from our room - but this didn't bother us at all. The hotel is easily accessible by people with reduced mobility. Breakfast was good. The staff were very helpful and all spoke English.

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The room was clean and spacious, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Anita welcomed us in a very nice way and made us feel at home. She also accommodated our requests for a new kettle, extra towels, and a different pillow in a timely and professional manner. The hotel is located in a convenient area, close to many attractions and restaurants. also, on rainy days they have offered umbrellas on the main door. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and relaxing stay.

There were only a few minor issues that did not affect our overall satisfaction. The water in the shower tended to flood the floor, so we had to be careful not to slip. The curtains were a bit short, so we had to adjust them to block the light from outside. The air conditioner was on fan mode, so it did not cool the room as much as we would have liked. However, these were not major problems and we did not mention them to the staff, as we were very happy with everything else. Thank you for a great stay! We hope to come back soon! 😊

The location was superb! The staff were very friendly and helpfull. Daily room service was good!

Trying to pay my bill with my mastercard credit card. The payment wouldnt go through on 3 occasions. The hotel eventually sent me the bill by email which then made things a lot easier!! We couldnt get access to our room until the bill had been paid even though we had been travelling for 12 hours and were very tired.We dont know if this is a failing on the hotel or booking.com

Cosy hotel in an awesome location. View of Basilica from our rooms. Excellent soundproofing, comfortable beds. Very helpful and polite front desk. Excellent breakfast.

Few pros... 1. The sofa in the living room was a sofa bed and was not comfortable to sit as the seat came sliding down. It would have been nice to have a couple of arm chairs as well for a family of 4 adults 2. The housekeeping could have been better 3. The shower was very powerful and warm but the drainage could not keep up, so it overflowed and we had to be cautious while showering. If the management sort out these few little glitches, it could become one of the best hotels in Budapest

Excellent hotel in the heart of Budapest. It left the warmest impressions. I had breakfast at the Starbucks opposite, dined on the same street in Indian or Greek food. There is right a stone's throw from the Basilica - my heart is left here! The reception staff is very friendly, customer-oriented at the level. We settled earlier than check-in without any problems, printed out a boarding pass for Wizz air.

I did not quite understand how to use the air conditioner, the control panel was built into the wall. But I did not ask, perhaps the problem was solved very simply. It was not very convenient to use the elevator, you need to apply a card.
